Get your clients to spend more on the projects you care about by saving them hundreds or even thousands of dollars on their voice bill each month.

The way you get your clients to save heaps is by switching them over to a per channel voice model.

What makes the per channel model great for you and your clients is that they don’t need to pay for individual phone lines for every user.
Phone lines are shared between all users and typically uses a 4:1 ratio (4 users sharing 1 channel a.k.a. phone line).

Let's have a look at how the per user model stacks up against the per channel model based on 40 users on a 24-month term. We have run with our recommended retail price points here, but our wholesale partners set their own rates.

A quick Google search shows that the average Teams Calling solution in today's market is charged at around $25 per user, at 40 users this would set a business back $1,000 +GST per month.

With a per channel model for 40 users, you would need 10 channels on an average contention ratio of 4:1.

Our 10 channel unlimited retail offering on a 24-month term $600 + GST per month.

Quick savings math = $400 p/month saved or $9.6k over the 24-month term. The savings are significant.

Got clients with offices in Australia?
Their local telco is targeting your clients' AU and NZ sites.

Our NZ partners have noticed a pattern: AU Telcos employ the same strategy repeatedly. Initially, the Australian telcos offer "harmless" internet services, and before the partner knows it the Telco sold their client voice services, Microsoft licenses - the whole package.

While the internet landscape might be different "across the ditch", it doesn’t mean you should be left behind in this competition.

To help build your moat and keep competitors at bay, we’ve written the playbook that explains everything NBN (AU’s version of UFB) so that you can offer AU internet services with confidence and fill the gaps in your service portfolio.

The playbook covers everything from high-level market intel to service specific details and all the gotchas in between.

Don’t allow Australian telcos to pursue your clients – shut them out.

Read the NBN playbook to learn how: https://bit.ly/3OZX0DL

Here’s how to make your more effective

It’s not some gimmicky tactic or “hack”

It's simply to not be everything for everyone

Niche down on a particular profitable segment

When you’re really specific in who you’re going after

It makes your marketing so much easier

And, of course, more effective

Pax 8 Academy director, James Davis is interviewing Brendan on the “TSP Talk” podcast where they talk all things marketing and how to expand into a new market.

You can watch the whole episode on their channel or watch the recording on Insights as a Service (episode 59) wherever you get your podcasts.

Expanding across the ditch?

Be warned it can be a huge money pit

Expanding across the ditch requires a big investment

But there’s a big payoff if it’s done well…

And the strategy to do it well sounds so obvious

But it serves as a great reminder for everyone

Don’t come to a new market and compete head on with everyone who’s already doing what you do.

Think about it as a company coming in from a different place, what can you offer in that market that isn’t currently offered there.

Easy to say

Harder to do

For example as a Telco in the Australian market, we’d be stupid to go “Hey, you know what we can do? Beat all the Australian telcos in Australia where they’ve had a 10 year head start with all the knowledge, talent, processes, and infrastructure already in place.”

You’re not going to beat that...

So what can we be?

In our case… the New Zealand supplier of choice for Australian telcos

Here’s why your or should bill for both users and devices…

Businesses are looking to do more with less headcount

Replacing staff with more devices and AI

Causing an increase in devices and a decrease in users

If you don’t have a billing model that scales in both directions

You’re setting your provider up for some nasty surprises in the future

Ryan Spillane also known as “Fuzzy” from IT-focused advisory company 360 Consulting, digs into the logic behind successful pricing strategies, what they’re doing to boost profit margins, and the biggest growth opportunities in 2023 (and beyond) in episode 56 of Insights as a Service

Want to save your client money on their phone bill that they can use towards your other services?

Walk into their office and count the % of people on the phone

Our guess is less than 100%

But most businesses have dedicated phone lines for every single user

It doesn’t make sense

And it just doesn’t scale

Unscalable per user models for voice solutions benefits only one party…

The telco provider.

Luckily there’s a better way

It’s based on how many simultaneous calls you want to make or receive

Every simultaneous call uses a voice channel (fancy jargon for a phone line)

And those voice channels are shared between all users

That way every user can make and receive calls

Without paying for every single user

On average, you’ll need only 1 channel to connect 4 users

Which means the cost savings will be significant!

Even more so for larger businesses
