Wag the Dog
WAG the Dog is a mobile dog wash and grooming service for the health and well-being of dogs.
All dog owners should take a good look at this.
Submissions are now open for the Animal Nuisance Bylaw, Dog Control Bylaw and Dog Control Policy review.
The key changes currently being proposed to the bylaws and policy are:
🐶 Setting minimum housing standards for dogs in the Dog Control Bylaw
🐕 Adjusting the Off Lead and Prohibited Areas Register in the Dog Control Policy and Bylaw to increase dog park provision in Hamilton.
Simplifying the multiple dog permit requirements in the Dog Control Bylaw – rather than needing to renew their permits each year, owners of more than two dogs will be able to apply for a long-term permit that only requires variations when changes occur (i.e. adding a new dog)
🏡 Making it clearer in the Animal Nuisance Bylaw that residents must house their animals on private property only.
For more information and to have your say on the proposed changes, visit hamilton.govt.nz/haveyoursay by 18 October 2024.
The waiting is worth it. We love to treat your pups as if they are our own.

Today is International and National Dog Day! It is a day to raise awareness about the number of dogs currently needing adoption. As dog owners and lovers, dog adopters and groomers we support dog rescues and adoption agencies. Every dog deserves to be loved. If you’re thinking of adding a dog to your family try contacting a shelter or rescue first.
To celebrate Dogs worldwide with us, share a picture of your pup enjoying the comforts of your home in the comments.

Look at this laid back lady having a nail trim. We know not all our clients are this calm and relaxed about this process and we do our best to help them get through as quickly and easily as possible.

This little fella wasn’t so sure if the water at first but soon relaxed and found a spot he was comfortable in. Mum likes him long haired and we think he really suit it too. Swipe to check out his finished look.

The after shot and then the before shot. This precious pooch is a very nervous boy but seemed to enjoy his WAG pamper and haircut. He’s a real sweetheart!

Our pal Toby isn’t a big fan of the grooming process yet, he’s still learning to trust us but gentle hands and patience get great results and he’s rewarded with hugs and lots of love and praise from his mum.

National Volunteer Week - Craig & Adobe Flame ❤️
As we continue National Volunteer Week, today we celebrate Craig and his incredible greyhound, Adobe Flame. This dynamic duo has been an integral part of the GAP community!
Craig adopted Adobe Flame nearly two years ago, and since then, they've become an inseparable team. As Craig puts it, "Adobe Flame is my sidekick occasionally; all the other times, I am her hooman." Their bond is truly heartwarming ✨
Craig and Adobe Flame have been volunteering with GAP since October the year Flame chose him. Recently, they helped organise a successful speed dating event in Hamilton, resulting in one lucky greyhound finding their forever home!
Craig shared his experience with us:
"Adobe Flame will have her Gotcha Day in July/August and we have been volunteering for GAP since maybe October the year Flame chose me. It was only these past 18 months we stepped up and took a more serious role in actively promoting GAP and the Great Mates Program around New Zealand when we travel."
Craig, your dedication and enthusiasm have made a significant impact on the greyhound community. Thank you for your hard work, and for being such a fantastic ambassador alongside Adobe Flame. We look forward to see more of Craig and Flame, especially on our Facebook groups where Craig shares the daily adventures of Flame and her eccentric personality ❤🥰
If you would like to join our greyt pack of volunteers, please reach out to [email protected] or check out the ways you can volunteer here - https://greyhoundsaspets.org.nz/blog/join-our-greyt-pack-volunteers

These 2 cuties are recent adoptees and their new mum and dad love to treat them to a pamper and a good haircut with us. They are both learning to love the process and now come running out to greet us as we pull up to the house with our trailer. They especially enjoy their baths.
Suze and Klara attended the Pink Ribbon Pups & Brunch event put on by The Barkuterie Box and The Keg Room this morning. Fantastic event, great speaker from K9 SEARCH Medical Detection and lots of very well behaved doggos with their mums and dads. They had a great time. 🎀🐾🍩🐶🐕🐩🐕🦺🦮🐾
We had the honour and pleasure of washing and grooming this little Griffon recently. She’s a senior and needed some gentle tlc. She was such a sweetheart and we enjoyed pampering her with our full groom service.
