What’s the oldest kit you have?
This was some stock Alf Leong purchased for the store back in the 1970’s
Originally sold by Pyro in 1952, it was also sold by Kellogg’s and Kleeware in the late 50’s. This model is the Life-Like Hobby Kits version made in New Zealand under Licence by Fortuna Agencies LTD around 1972. Finally Bull Mark sold it in as well from 1973
Only $3.99 back then and now worth about $60.00 as a collectors model.

Little bit of progress on the vintage Tamiya Levin and Blackfoot. The wheelbase was incorrect on the Levin so we fixed that up and will now strip the paint from the body.

We had some new tyres in stock for the Blackfoot and just received some new rims so out with the old perished tyres and painted rims. Now we have a brand new set of original wheels and tyres 😍

How cool to have this project to rebuild for display
Tamiya Tom’s Levin on the FF chassis with an original 3 step mechanical speed controller. Sold by me back in 1996
Also an original Tamiya Black Foot that’s going to need quite a bit of work to get it ready for display. We do have an original body in better condition for it.
Both cars have original Futaba radio gear including the iconic Bionic Good and the Megatech Junior

Good luck to our young racers Jackson Coombes and Dylan Toia who are racing at the Tauranga indoor club day today. After such an awesome result at the Waikato champs these two are getting some track time before the next big event 2024 Tauranga champs in October.

The main event at this weekends Waikato Champs was the Pro Invitational with 8 of New Zealand best RC racers and one Australian
While we had 3 Yokomo drivers heading up the challenge it ended up been a two horse race. Top Kiwi Logan Toia vs Australian Jarod Ment. Between these two racers they won all 12 racers. Logan set the fastest race time in both 2wd and 4wd but when the points were added up Jarod was the Pro invitational winner by two points over Logan. So good to have this level of racing and facility in Hamilton.

So proud of the whole team today all the support advice etc they give to the younger racers paid of with outstanding results from young Dylan Toia and Jackson Coombes.
Jackson won the Junior class with his Yokomo MO2.0 and also came 2nd in 4wd Stock to make it a Yokomo 1,2 with Dylan Toia taking the win.
Dylan backed up his 4wd stock win with first place in both 2wd modified driving his Yokomo SO2.0 and 4wd Mod driving his Yokomo MO2.0

We couldn’t be any prouder of their achievements. With even more juniors choosing Yokomo cars to race and looking up to our team drivers like William Hargreaves, Logan Toia, Gael Bueno Ware you guys rock!

Hamilton’s biggest RC car racing event of the year is here!
Hosted at the massive Hamilton Inline Hockey Venue at 60 Old Farm Road
Viewing is free both days and racing is from 9am until 5pm
