It's incredibly normal to feel nervous in front of the camera, it's not an everyday occurance to be super cute and cuddly with your significant other while someone (aka me) runs around you with a camera saying "aw that's so cute! Hug each other tighter, you guys look gorgeous!".

I've always been a bit hesitant to post too many black and white images here because I assume people want to see photos in colour.

The thing is though, I absolutely adore black and white images. They have such a nostalgic, romantic feel. It's like black and white captures and holds so many more feelings than colour does; like instead of just being a snowglobe sitting on your beside table, it's a snowglobe that has been all shaken up and the snow is swirling and it's magical.

Just me? Anyways, I listened in to some education delivered last week and it's inspired me to put more black and white images out there. So look forward to seeing more of that here :)

After telling people I’m niching down the type of photography I’m currently doing, I’ve had this question asked a few times and it’s a totally fair question. It’s definitely very common for someone to photograph weddings if they photograph couples and I’ve really enjoyed the previous weddings I’ve photographed. So why the change?​​​​​​​​

In a nutshell, it's all comes down to balance. I wasn't balanced about the amount of work I took on previously and I paid the price for it. Weddings entail a lot of time, work and not a whole lot of calm for me so for now, I'll leave them to other very talented photographers such as and (if you need a wedding photographer, hit them up ASAP!! 🙌So, why maternity sessions?🙌⁣
A few people have asked what draws me to maternity sessions and my answer is a bit different to most. A very common way of getting into maternity photography is when you have your own kids and discover the love of documenting every detail of their little newborn features and holding onto those moments as long as you can. That leads to photographing children and falling in love with photographing the whole process from the very first milestone - pregnancy.

Now, as most of you know, I don't have children of my own. So what's the appeal? Well, it has nothing to do with me and everything to do with 3 of my closest friends becoming mothers in the past two years. Watching them go from wanting children to being pregnant (they all had very different journeys with this), the hard things and incredible things of pregnancy (oh my goodness who knew???? 😱) to holding their little ones in their arms (yes I'm biased and yes they're perfect), I was in awe as my friends transformed from women into mothers. The excitement of pregnancy, the fleetingness of it while also seeming like an eternity.....I wanted to capture it all.

Thank you so so much for all your lovely comments and messages since yesterday, it's been amazing to see how many people were thrilled that I'm back doing photography again! So many warm fuzzies haha⁣

This session was simply divine 😍

It had been a week of rain leading up to this stunning session and we managed to score a couple of hours of clear weather before the rain started again

Did someone say launch?? This lovely lady has been working so hard and created an incredible wedding planner which has just launched!! Jas sits next to me at our 'day jobs' and over the last year or so we have been chatting non-stop about her creative baby and I'm so dang proud of her; seeing how hard she has worked to balance being an entrepreneur and a very in-demand physio has been an inspiration and it has been so great to have someone who understands the juggle of having at 9-5 job plus a 5-9 passion right next to me.​​​​​​​​
