Gemma has been with Hamilton Orthodontics for TEN years, you would have seen her around the clinic. Not only is she our fantastic lab tech she is nearly a qualified Oral Health Therapist. We are so proud of her and her journey with us.

This week our clinical staff are off to the NZAO conference in Christchurch.

We are taking an extra long weekend. We are closed tomorrow Friday 17th Jan for team building and closed Monday 30th Jan for the public holiday. Opening as usual Tuesday 31st January 2023.

If you attend your appointment with no breakages, good oral hygiene (brushing well), are on time and don't miss your appointments. Our Auxillarys are handing out cards for you to go in the draw to receive a $20 Chartwell gift voucher.

You might not recognise her and we all miss her in clinic.... our beautiful Gemma has left us to pursue her studies towards a Bachelor of Oral Health!!

We wish her well and hope she comes back to us one day! You might be lucky enough to catch her as she comes back every now and then to help us out.

If you would like to work with us, we have a position available as a sterilisation and clinical assistant. The role involves working with our lovely team keeping our instruments sterilised and assisting the orthodontists and auxiliaries in clinic. This is a fulltime position and remuneration is negotiable depending on experience.

The Dental Council and MOH have released alert Level 3 guidelines that allow the provision of some routine dental care at Alert Level 3. The guidelines have specific PPE and room requirements and means PATIENTS ONLY will be able to access the building.

Please carefully read the triaging questions in our reminder texts and available on our website and if you answer YES to any please call us to reschedule. If you are unwell please DO NOT attend your appointment. If you are waiting the results of a COVID test DO NOT attend your appointment. If you are a confirmed or suspected COVID case DO NOT attend your appointment. If you have been to an area of interest and are self-isolating please also DO NOT attend your appointment.

Please wear a mask and sign in using our QR code. Masks are provided if you do not have your own.

We respect that some of you may not want to attend your appointment at Alert Level 3, please call reception on 07 839 5870 to reschedule and we will see you as soon as we can in Level 2.

Some appointments will need to be postponed and we will be in touch to reschedule with you.

Apologies for the wait, we were waiting on the updated guidelines for working at Level 2 with the Delta variant, from the Dental Council and Ministry of Health. They have been released to us this evening.

We look forward to seeing everyone back in clinic, with a few changes so we can operate safely:

STAY AT HOME IF YOU ARE UNWELL - especially if you have a cough, sore throat, shortness of breath, runny nose or temporary loss of smell. We will reschedule your appointment when you have recovered.

STAY AT HOME - If you are awaiting a COVID-19 test result or if you have had contact with a confirmed or suspected case of COVID-19. If you have travelled to an area with an evolving community outbreak (higher alert level e.g Auckland) or have been asked to self-isolate please also stay at home. If you have been in a MIQ (managed isolation facility) in the last 14 days you will need to delay your appointment.

SCAN THE QR CODE - displayed in reception

ARRIVE ON TIME FOR YOUR APPOINTMENT - this will limit the number of people in the reception area. You may be asked to wait in the car if you are early. If you would like to wait in the car please call us and we will let you know when we are ready to see you.

ATTEND APPOINTMENTS ALONE - a maximum of one support person (wearing a mask) can attend if this is not appropriate.

MASKS - please wear your own mask and remove it once you are ready for your treatment in clinic. We will have masks available if you do not have your own. Support people will be required to wear a mask.

SOCIAL DISTANCING - Our reception area has been modified so that you can keep 2m distance from others.

Please be patient with us as we get into the groove of practicing at Level 2, your health and safety is our top priority. We look forward to seeing you soon.

The NZ Dental Council and Ministry of Health guidelines state all non-essential and elective dental services continue to be suspended at Alert Level 3, we will be able to see you all for appointments when we go to Level 2.

Our reception team remain available by phone and email.

Please continue to take good care of your appliances by:
-Making sure you maintain excellent oral hygiene by brushing twice a day thoroughly
-Not eating unfavourable foods to avoid breakages

Please email us (with photos if possible) about any concerns you may have with your orthodontic treatment. We will reply as soon as we can.

As per the announcement this evening we will be in Level 4 lockdown from midnight tonight.

If you have an appointment in the next 3 days it has been cancelled. When we move Alert Levels we will be able to contact you to arrange your new appointment time.

If/When we move to Level 3 one of our lovely reception team will be manning the phones and be able to answer any messages. The next 3 days no one will be in the building as per Alert Level 4 rules.

Warm welcome to Kimberley who has joined the team. Kimberley graduated from Otago Uni with a Bachelor of Oral Health. Also a qualified fitness instructor, Kimberley loves to create gluten free vegan treats, go on Hikes and attend the Gym. We look forward to working with Kimberley and the healthy snacks in the lunch room 😁.

Yesterday was Sharon's last day with us.
Shaz initially started in reception before moving into the clinic and gaining her qualification as an orthodontic auxiliary. She has decided to move further North (where its warmer too!) to a very lucky practice - We will miss you Shaz.
