This week the Waikato Food Inc Board unanimously voted to fold the organisation and wind up all activities. Chair, Sarah Turpitt said “This has been a tremendously difficult decision to arrive at as the Waikato food and beverage industry has united through this organisation for over a decade. Unfortunately, this has become increasingly difficult to deliver without sustained funding."

The Meyer Melt Challenge, which starts on Friday the 1st of April, will continue and so too will the CBD Progressive Dinner on the 4th of May, but these will be the last of WFI’s initiatives in the region.

The board would like to take this opportunity to thank our generous sponsors and supporters who have helped Waikato Food Inc achieve so much on so little over the last ten years.
