Te Pahū Hall Roof - Please Donate
THE TE PAHŪ HALL NEEDS A NEW ROOF!
We are now a registered Charity so donations are tax deductible.
The main roof is rusting and needs new iron, and the entrance roof over the foyer and toilets needs a new roof structure.
Estimated cost is just under $100,000
So far we have about $35,000 from fundraising over the years, and $15,000 from recent donations to the project. So we're about half way there.
Please consider making a donation. 😀
More details are in previous posts, the tepahu.co.nz website and the Hall TV Noticeboard.
Please email [email protected], and the Treasurer - Wayne Humphries - will send details.
Thank you!

THE TE PAHŪ HALL NEEDS A NEW ROOF!
The main roof is rusting and needs new iron, and the entrance roof over the foyer and toilets, due to its flatness and general design is plagued with persistent leaks, and would also benefit from new cladding.
The best solution is to build a new gabled roof structure over the foyer and toilets that matches the main roof, and sheds water reliably. It makes sense to also put new tin on the main roof while we are about it.
Plans for the new build have been drawn, materials priced (with discounts arranged) and the design shown to the Council, who have given it the thumbs-up.
As our Hall is owned by the Te Pahū Community, we are eligible to apply for various Community Grants but we will still have to found a significant proportion of the cost ourselves (which currently is estimated total just under $100,000). The Hall Society has some funds saved up for this purpose, but nowhere near enough to complete the job.
This is why we’re asking everyone in the community to consider making a donation to this worthwhile project. As an extra incentive to encourage generosity, it is worth mentioning that, as the Te Pahū Hall is not Council-owned, local ratepayers are not charged the standard Hall Maintenance Levy in their annual Rates demand, that the people in neighbouring districts are required to pay.
A special Hall Society bank account is being set-up for the project, but for those wishing to make an early contribution, please email [email protected], and the Treasurer - Wayne Humphries will direct you to the general purposes account being used in the interim.
