We have a very special artist joining us this Thursday at our next AGL event.

Noel is an Australian singer-songwriter living in New Zealand. He began playing guitar in school bands before studying with and then teaching for Alfred Alexander, one of Australia’s most celebrated virtuoso classical guitarists.

He went on to study opera singing at The Sydney Conservatorium of Music, under legendary Dame Dorothy Helmrich and turned down the lead role in the Conservatorium’s Mozart Opera “Don Giovanni” to sing in the original Australian production of Andrew Lloyd Webber’s smash hit rock opera “Jesus Christ Superstar,” in both the Sydney and Melbourne Seasons.

Noel has played guitar in numerous rock bands, co-owned a Vintage American Guitar store and rubbed shoulders with some of Australia’s most iconic musicians, including members of AC/DC, INXS and Midnight Oil, as well as other high-profile international acts.

Noel released “Blue Water Mine” in 1999 featuring original songs and supported by some excellent musicians, including ex-AC/DC bassist Mark Evans. Since then, he enjoyed a successful executive business career mixed with patches of songwriting and performing on the Sydney music scene, as well as a couple of USA gigs. Now, after all that time, he is back doing what he loves best: writing, recording and performing original music.

So, after a long hiatus, here it is, with a nice new raw / live fresh sound: the creative work of “Abandoned Love.” With Noel playing all parts other than percussion / drums by Regan John McKinnon.

Agora presents the Tired Mums Club! Family fun interactive events hosted in our Cafe auditorium by Enchanted Entertainment NZ.

1st October / 9am - 10am : Disco Time! Put your dancing shoes on, your crazy wigs, your sequin shirt, and your cool shades. Move to the music and run wild!!

5th November / 9am - 10am: Superhero Training! Meet your favourite superhero's and learn to be just like them!!

7th December / From 9am: Christmas Party! Santa's best elves have been sent to Agora to spread the Christmas Joy.

Bring your mum friends, grab a coffee, and observe from the sidelines while your kids interact with the wonderfully talented and engaging Enchanted Entertainment team.

UPCOMING FAMILY EVENTS

Being a parent is HARD. Speaking from personal experience, most days I (Rach, the Events Superstar) am a hot mess. Showers are a luxury activity. An uninterrupted meal is a thing of the past. Do not get me started on attempting to use the bathroom without unabating eye-contact.

Even on the days where I feel I have myself somewhat together, mum-life can still feel isolated and lonely.

Like me, I’m sure you get out and about when you can, except…it is so daunting taking our little terrors into public without taking 12 changes of clothes, aisle 7 of the grocery store, the red sippy cup (because the green one is unacceptable), every toy known to man, a fire extinguisher, and possibly a cage. Usually, even if I return home missing my left sleeve, or there is a mysterious substance leaking in my pocket, I will consider it a successful outing if I somehow managed to get my hands on a cup of coffee.

Well anyway, Agora Cafe has been working hard to bring together a few days of potential PEACE for our Tired Mums. In collaboration with Enchanted Entertainment we have 3 fun filled mornings where your kids can bounce off the walls, hit the roof, and (with any luck) as you exit they crash into a deep slumber.

We invite you to come along, grab a coffee from the Cafe, and join us in the auditorium for FREE family entertainment and activities. Make friends with the rest of the Tired Mums community and get much needed love, support and encouragement from our Agora Cafe staff.

We don't want to deliver an event that isn't 100% reflective of our awesome community so instead of powering through we have postponed our performers for the next one!
