Cantabria Villagers had a fantastic day out in Whakatane! The outing started with delicious fish and chips from Gibbos by the sea, followed by a fascinating documentary about White Island at the Information Centre. On their way back, they couldn't resist stopping for some tasty ice cream at Awakeri. It was a day filled with sunshine, great company, and wonderful memories
Karina Lifecare marked Deaf Awareness Day with a vibrant 'Loud Shirt Day' event! Both staff and residents donned their brightest shirts to raise awareness for the deaf community. They held a fun competition for the best shirt, and the winners were Karen in her fabulous pink shirt and John, a Karina resident, rocking a playful monkey shirt. It was a colorful and meaningful day for everyone involved!
Waiapu House Lifecare had the joy of welcoming little Harrison, the adorable son of unit coordinator, Katie. His visit brought smiles and laughter to their beautiful ladies, who couldn’t wait to meet this precious bundle of joy.

They celebrated International Cheese Day in style with a delightful cheese tasting at Waiapu House Lifecare! Residents indulged in an array of amazing cheeses, including smoked, apricot and almond, blue vein, garlic and herb feta, camembert, and garlic and herb cream cheese. The top favorite was none other than blue cheese, complemented by a beautiful fresh fruit platter and a selection of hot and cold beverages. What a delicious afternoon!
Our vibrant Edith Cavell Lifecare community in Sumner embraced creativity with open arms. Local businessman Tracy Gough generously shared his expertise, guiding residents through the fascinating world of charcoal drawing. From intricate sketches to bold strokes, residents showcased their artistic flair. But that’s not all—the day took an arty turn with a visit to the Christchurch Art Gallery! The theme? Dressing up in their most artistic attire!

Karina Lifecare residents enjoyed a fascinating experiment with daisy flowers and food colouring. By placing single flowers in different cups with various colours, they watched in amazement as the daisies transformed from white to bright hues in just a few hours. A beautiful and educational activity for all.
Colwyn House Lifecare hosted a vibrant Pink Ribbon breakfast, with pink everywhere you could see! From the attendees' outfits to the plentiful decorations, and a beautiful breakfast spread, it was a special event in support of breast cancer awareness.

Annie Brydon Lifecare put a fun twist on the classic game of tic tac toe with peanut butter noughts and crosses! Instead of X’s and O’s, they used peanut butter on toast with ping pong balls. The room was filled with laughter as everyone ended up with sticky fingers.

At Annie Brydon Lifecare, the residents got hands-on with some delicious pancake-making. Everyone had a great time cooking, and then choosing their favorite spreads and toppings. What a tasty and interactive morning!
Karina Lifecare recently welcomed Pru from Temanawa Museum, who brought a fascinating collection of Queen memorabilia for residents to view and examine. This special visit sparked wonderful stories and memories from our residents about where they were when the Queen visited New Zealand.
