Joel is one of the directors of Hub Aged Care Limited. He is a Specialist Family Physician with experience in Geriatrics and Rehabilitation. He spent time in hospitals in New Zealand working in Older Persons and Rehabilitation Services. He also specialises in doing joint injections, plastering of broken bones, skin cancer medicine and all forms of minor surgery, including microsurgery.

As a partner of High Street Health Hub, Joel has extensive experience in all aspects of General Practice including in Preventative Medicine, Men's health as well as infectious diseases.

One of the first doctors to sound the alarm bells on the COVID-19 pandemic in January 2020, Joel campaigned for the use of pop-up testing centres which were widely used throughout New Zealand, during sporadic outbreaks and increase in alert levels. He sits on the Influenza Advisory Board and is a main speaker at the 2021 NZ Influenza and COVID-19 Symposium held by The Immunisation Advisory Centre (IMAC) at the National Library.

With his focus on the elderly, Joel hopes to bring improved care for the most vulnerable in the Aged Care sector.

Roland started working in General Practice in Wellington from the year 2019. He spent the majority of his medical training in Singapore from 2005 to 2015 focusing on internal medicine, geriatrics and palliative care, as well as a very interesting two years in forensic medicine, before he joined a general practice as partner from 2015 to 2019. During that time, he also spent a few hours every week providing visiting consults to Nursing Homes in Singapore.

The decision to work in New Zealand came from a yearning for a breath of fresh air (literally), and (figuratively) wanting to get as far away from Middle Earth as humanly possible. Roland is proud to believe that he has indeed found a Shire he has no difficulty squeezing into, being used to tight spaces back where he came from anyway.

On a serious note, he hopes to continue learning and applying his skills and experience to serve the wonderful community that built this beautiful country.
