When are not a good idea?
This is a great topic to discuss in Lower Hutt as we look to regenerate many parts of our city, look to deal with increased anti-social behaviours and the ongoing impact of COVID 19 on our business community.

One tree has been painted by the Normandale School Envirogroup, predominantly led the project, with the help and support of other ākonga in the school.
They brainstormed ideas to what they thought should put on the🎄tree. Next, narrowing these down into a final design. Once the bauble and koru idea, then each child designed a bauble. Each bauble represents aspects of Normandale School that the children consider special and unique to the school, eg. Kapa Haka and their school song - Nau mai, Haere mai, the library, flora and fauna, the people. 🎄
Normandale School values form the acronym TREE (Thoughtfulness, Resilience, Enthusiasm, Empathy, with an overarching theme of Respect) are represented on each koru. The children were really keen to include these on the🎄tree as they were so delighted by the link. They also wanted to include their whānau group symbols which are native birds and an important part of life at Normandale School.
They really enjoyed the project and we hope that you enjoy their
🎄tree too!

Programs like About Space Hutt City are a valuable resource for both the property owner of a vacant shop as well as budding artists, creatives and start-up businesses. It adds a uniqueness and newness to a street that changes more frequently than traditional long-term leases. They add to the experience people can have visiting, shopping and dining.
From Dead Store to Pop-Up 'Social Infrastructure' A Boston nonprofit called CultureHouse is demonstrating how empty storefronts can be transformed into instant “social infrastructure.”
