Bula Everyone,
Happy Independence Day Fiji!
We enjoy that time of the year where we celebrate all our indigenous Pacific languages here in Aotearoa and this week its Macawa ni Vosa Vakaviti – Fijian Language Week 2023.
This year's theme, "Me vakabulabulataki, vakamareqeti, ka vakaqaqacotaki na vosa vakaviti" which translates to "Nurture, Preserve, and Sustain the Fijian language," holds meaning and relevance for our arts community and diaspora.
We look back at our past Artist in Residency with Alipate Traill, who shares itaukei values with us....

At Pacific Dance NZ, we celebrate the richness of Tongan culture and language.
Today, we want to honour the talented Tongan artists and choreographers who have contributed their creativity and passion to our community.
Let's take a moment to acknowledge their incredible work, which has enriched our cultural landscape and helped ensure the sustainability of the Tongan language.
