The role is 40 hours per week, and pay is determined by previous professional experience.

The ideal candidate will have-

- 2 years experience in a professional kitchen.
- A keen eye for consistency and quality.
- The Legal right to work in New Zealand.
- The ability to work well in a team.

Ashby Pies is on the hunt for a friendly and energetic FOH team member to come aboard full time. (30-40 hours).

The role involves serving, making coffee and all other general FOH bakery responsibilities, and the shifts are Sunday-Thursday.

Coffee experience isn’t required, we are happy to train, but any prior experience in busy cafe roles is an advantage.

IMPORTANT

Won’t be the first post like this you’ve seen today, probably won’t be the last. The team at Ashby has been doing it tough for the last couple of weeks, through sickness and staff shortages every day has been a scramble to fill the cabinet, fill the staff, and fill the cups with the good stuff. I can’t say how incredibly proud of every single person who works here I am, they’ve all gone above and beyond every day. The last 3 years through covid can best be described as constant crisis management, with every variant proving more challenging than the last.

None the less we are blessed to have been SUPER BUSY! So thank you to each and every one of you who continues to support us.

Announcement 📢 number 1- Tomorrow, Saturday 9 July we will be operating as takeaway only. there will still be tables for you to hang out, but we may not be as quick to clear or serve as usual. please be patient as we are running a very light team for a Saturday service.

Announcement number 2-
We will be closing Mondays for the next 2 weeks during school holidays, to allow a catch up day each week for prep and rest. Normal progression to resume as soon as the kids get back to school.

Happy New Year!

Ashby is looking for a front of house legend to join our team. Experience is favourable (especially coffee, but not a deal breaker) but most important is a friendly demeanour, a positive attitude and must laugh at my jokes.

Training provided, and wages to reflect the successful applicants experience.

Job can be either full time or part time, unfortunately it involves midweek and weekend shifts so is not suitable for high school students. (May be able to make it work around uni though).
