Ange approached me in September looking for guidance in her strength training to specifically help prepare for an International Kata Karate Tournament. With a structured strength plan working around a knee injury she began noticing the benefits in her practice and some visual gains too 🍑😉
Being the hard working woman she is Ange signed herself up to a local Shred Challenge on the eve of a 3 week trip to Japan for the International Kata Tournament. She had a great support crew through the challenge with the added motivation in group fitness classes. We continued and amped up the strength training and fine tuned her Paleo styled eating plan. Gaining muscle and dropping fat was the goal.
While she struggled with the concept of eating more to get shredded, she asked questions I answered and she trusted the process-much appreciated 🙏😉
The Kata Tournament in Japan 🇯🇵 was a success taking home 6th Equal on the International Stage!
And Ange got shredded in the meantime:
-lost 5 kg of fat that’s 11 pounds off butter 🧈
-decreased her body fat percentage from 26-18%
-decreased her biological age from 40-36
-she maintained and gained 1 kg of muscle mass
In the short time period we had these results are phenomenal!

As a mother, mother to be, leader, Sister, Aunty, Role Model, Coach or Grandmother how will being strong impact your life?
Imagine you are planning a trip of a life time to a far away destination you have dreamed of for many years. You have 4 days allocated for the trip and unlimited spend once you arrive. One day travel there and back and 2 days at your leisure to do as you please. How will you spend those 2 days? Are you imaging all the things you want to see, do, and eat at your destination? How will you do everything in so little time? Maybe you pull out your phone and start scheduling in time allocations for each desired activity. Or maybe you plan to wing it and hope you get through as much as you can. Which method will get you through the most activities?
The Pilot of the Boeing 747 you’re travelling on has a navigation system guiding it along the safest, most direct route possible to your destination. How would the Pilot go if there were no navigation system? Where would the plane end up?
How do you approach your health and fitness goals? Are you winging it and hoping for the best? Do you have a destination? Do you have a plan? Do you have a process to measure your progress? Are you measuring progress? Are you progressing?
My Mum used to always use the phase “there are many ways to skin a cat” and in Health and Fitness there absolutely is many ways to attain lasting and sustainable results.

🤷♀️Why do get cravings?…..Due to our menstrual cycle our bodies are in constant fluctuation. Estrogen and cortisol are two hormones closely linked. Coming into your period as estrogen rises, cortisol follows suit. As you know cortisol is a stress hormone - with the increase you go into heightened stress mode 😬 and metabolic stimulation which causes a want for foods high in carbs and fat.
🧠feel like the weight of the 🌏 is on your shoulders? Serotonin the “feel good”neurotransmitter is significantly reduced during our cycle and our body is looking for other ways to get it….carbohydrates are used in serotonin production hence the sweet surgery cravings 🍫🍩🍪💝

I don’t know about you, but I am defiantly guilty of posting my best photos on here and quickly deleting or never showing what’s real.
In my 10 years of being a Beauty Therapist and now Fitness Professional – Its no secret us ladies are not too keen on this dimply skin.
This photo is taken from a distance with no filter, you can clearly see the blotchy, dimpled cellulite on the backs of my legs, it’s also on my arms and my stomach. I have had it for as long as I can remember but it does seem to worsen as the years pass.
Throughout my career I have seen a lot of bodies clothed and unclothed due to the nature of my work with skin and of course being in the Bodybuilding/Fitness Industry. I have seen 100kg women with no cellulite and I have seen 60kg women with cellulite.
What is and why do so many of us have it?
Good news, it is purely a Cosmetic Condition which effects 80-90% of Women and about 10% of men (they always get off lightly) The motley, dimpled, oatmeal appearance is determined by the integrity of your skins connective tissue (Collagen and Elastin) Imagine an intertwined network of fibers like that of a Persian Rug nice and tight and interwoven. As it ages, stretches and becomes worn the fibers loosen, thin and gaps appear. These gaps are what our balloon like adipose cells seep through causing the lumpy look on our skin.
There are a few factors that can influence cellulite:
✨Genetics: If you notice it on your Mum or close relatives you may have a higher change of developing it.
(My Mum doesn’t t have it)
✨Age: Collagen and Elastin will break down over time which may worsen it.
✨Lifestyle: This is a broad one, but a big one. Sleep, nutrition, stress, hydration and exercise will influence cellulite. Before you start looking for magic pills and potions – Start here- they are controllables
✨Muscle to fat mass Ratio: The more muscle under the skin the smoother it will be. The opposite, less muscle and more soft fat will worsen the appearance.
A gentle reminder to be kind to yourself, pursuing perfection is often unachievable
