Last year our teams pulled 432km of fishing line from the Mediterranean Sea, removed over 11,000 kilos of plastic from remote islands in the Indian Ocean and conducted many more beach clean ups around the world.

The First Mortgage Trust Nationals is where NZ's best anglers come together to pitch their skills under IGFA regulations. Fishing as far north as the King Bank to the very bottom of the South Island.

With over 1500 anglers contesting it's also one of the biggest comps in NZ

2021 saw some outstanding results in the billfish category and the Tag n Release section was the most popular choice for affiliated anglers.

A staggering 230 Billfish were tagged n released for scientific purposes vs only 26 fish weighed.

*Billfish includes striped, black, blue marlin, and broadbill.

After losing a few good Kingfish Stephan finally landed a 10 kg kingfish on 6 kg line, A solid hour and a half battle we finally got it on board!

On this day in 1987, David Lugton landed this IGFA All-Tackle World Record southern yellowtail while fishing off White Island in New Zealand 🇳🇿.
