Napier Pipe Band
The Napier Pipe Band is a parading band, active in community events and enthusiastic about teaching The history of pipe bands in Napier goes back many years.
The Drones and Sticks PB was formed in February 1999 after a group of keen people got together and decided they wanted to put their talents to good use for the pipe band movement while the City of Napier can trace its origins back to the Highland Society of Napier's pipers in 1895. The merger of the two bands has seen us develop a special organisation that will continue the tradition of pipe bands making a contribution to Napier.

A very enjoyable afternoon at Taradale & District RSA for our mid-winter Tea 'n Tunes on Sunday. Message from one of our supporters: "I thoroughly enjoyed Tea,nTunes on Sunday. A full-on programme of piping - which was lovely !!" Good to have Hawke’s Bay Caledonian Pipe Band members join us.
Our members are getting ready for the next Tea ‘n Tunes on Sunday 21st at Taradale & District RSA. Our friends from Hawke’s Bay Caledonian Pipe Band will be there as well.
At the Band's AGM the annual awards went to Chelsea (piping) and Kellan (drumming). These youngsters have made good progress and are great members of the band. Congratulations!
Tonight we had our AGM with Julie being re-elected as President. We appreciate her leadership very much.
Tea ‘n Tunes at the band rooms with pipers playing a selection of music, including some favourites.
A pipe band has been part of Napier’s history for many years so it’s good to see this photo thought to have been taken about 1905. Every time we parade we acknowledge the history of those who went before us something we are proud to do.

Last weekend's Piping & Drumming Live at the Napier RSA was enjoyed by a large audience. Gives us a good start for the next one at the venue in August.
Not sure what is happening at Nelson Park, home of the Band, but are these crop circles and are the pipes an addition to the Band's piping force?
