It's a BIG day for us today as we gather to celebrate the 80th birthday of this Stylish Soul Sister Eila Benson! Our Eila has been on my voluntary staff for almost 10 years...I handpicked her when she wandered in for a browse and I recognized her stylishness and honesty. Happy Birthday Eila!

Festival Opera's very own Alice Sip and Anna Pierard are performing as part of today's Lunch Hour Concert at the Havelock North Function Centre, at 12.00pm.

These free concerts present a varied programme of talented local performers, centred around the Steinway grand piano, with lunch available after the concert.

Today's performers are: Elizabeth Gawler, Contralto; Ethan Xu, Piano and Violin, Violinist Alice Sip; Paul Carnegie-Jones, Piano; Franzi Manuel, Vocalist, Mezzo-Soprano Anna Pierard.

So, if you're in Havelock today, pop over to the Function Centre for something a bit special over your lunchbreak!
