A LITTLE ABOUT ME
I am a seasoned healthcare professional with a Health Sciences Degree in Nursing with 25 years of experience in the industry. My career includes nine years in rehabilitation as a private therapist to high-net-worth individual. With 16 years of massage experience and a Level 4 diploma in Thai Massage, I bring a deep understanding of body mechanics and pain management.
As a certified yoga teacher with 15 years of practice, I have a personal journey of overcoming chronic pain through simple yet effective yoga techniques. My unique blend of nursing, massage, and yoga allows me to offer a holistic approach to wellness, tailored to each individualβs needs.
HOW MANY SESSIONS WILL I NEED?
The number of sessions needed varies based on individual needs. For general aches and pains, one session is often sufficient for lasting relief. More persistent discomfort may require 2-3 weekly sessions initially, followed by monthly maintenance. Chronic conditions typically need 3-5 weekly sessions, with ongoing monthly maintenance recommended afterward. Everyone is unique, so these are general guidelines rather than strict rules. Check out my packages to find discounts available for multiple treatments.

WHAT I HAVE BEEN UP TO
We headed to northwest Germany to visit family and friends, where we had a relaxing time hanging out in the garden during a pretty decent German summer. After that, we also spent two weeks in the French mountains with a big group of friends - 17 of us, including seven kids! Yes, it was noisy and chaotic but it was awesome to spend this time with great friends and their kids. The fresh air was amazing and the views were spectacular.
It was great to unwind and catch up, but now Iβm ready to dive back into work. My practice is reopening on Monday 2nd September. I canβt wait to see everyone again and help you manage pain & mobility issues.

π Did You Know? π€
The largest organ in the human body is actually the skin! π Yes, that's right β our skin is considered an organ, and it's the largest one we have. Not only does it protect us from the outside world, but it also plays a crucial role in regulating body temperature and sensation.
Taking care of our skin is essential for overall health and well-being. Remember to stay hydrated, moisturise regularly, and protect your skin from harmful UV rays.
The baby has arrived!
We joyfully welcomed SΔshΔ into the world on March 11th! π He was born in the peaceful surroundings of our home weighing 3.56kg and measuring 51cm. Fortunately for us he likes to sleep (mostly) and has been putting on weight since day one. Anna was amazing throughout the birth and has recovered well. Now, we're happily settling into life as a family of four and feel incredibly blessed to have SΔshΔ with us. π

TRY THIS SIMPLE NECK STRETCH TO IMPROVE FLEXIBILITY & ALIGNMENT, ENGAGE UNDER USED MUSCLES & REDUCE NECK TENSION
Please remember that there should not be any sharp pain during the stretch. Move gently and as tolerated, there is no need to stretch beyond the natural limitation of the neck. Consistency is key, do these stretches regularly throughout the day, every day for best results!
EXTENSION
If the muscles that extend the neck are not properly engaged they become weak & inflexible. This is a great stretch to counter this imbalance.
Seated or standing with your neck straight with eyes looking forward. Begin by lifting your chin up towards the ceiling, keep lifting the chin up with shoulders relaxed. Hold for 10-30 seconds as tolerated and return your head to a neutral position. Repeat 3-5 times as well as several times a day.
FLEXION
Use this exercise as a gentle stretch to improve neck flexion.
Seated or standing, begin with your neck in a neutral position with eyes looking forward. Using your core muscles to keep the back straight during the stretch, keeping shoulders relaxed squeeze your shoulder blades together to pull your shoulders back, begin by tucking the chin down toward your chest. Hold for 10-30 seconds and return to a neutral position. Repeat 3-5 times several times a day.
NECK ROTATION
We rely often on the necks ability to rotate freely throughout the day, this stretch helps improve this range of motion by exaggerating a movement we use so often.
Seated or standing, engage your core to keep the back straight and your chin level. Begin by slowly turning your head to the left until you feel tension in the right side of your neck. Hold for 10-30 seconds, return to neutral. Then repeat on the right side. Repeat several times each side and do it several times throughout the day.
GENTLE STRETCH THAT TARGETS YOUR SHOULDERS, CHEST, NECK AND UPPER BACK
This 'Thread the Needle' Exercise can give you a great stretch through the chest and shoulders. It also requires a gentle twisting motion that can help stretch and loosen the muscles in the low back. If you are dealing with chronic shoulder or back pain, this posture can help gently loosen the muscles and relieve tension.
BENEFITS
β’ Relieves Neck Pain
If your neck is painful, tight or tense then thread-the-needle can help relieve these as you slowly twist back and forth and rids any knots you may have in your neck.
β’ Stretches Out the Upper Back
Thread-the-needle is one of the best stretches for the upper back, especially if you have a limited range of motion. It opens up the cervical and thoracic spine which often become stiff when you sit for long periods of time.
β’ Stretches the Shoulders
If you sit at a computer or phone all day then itβs likely you have tight shoulders from hunching over. Thread-the-needle stretches the sides and backs of your shoulders, helping to ease any pain and tension you may have there.
β’ Itβs Relaxing
Thread-the-needle can be super relaxing as you dynamically move and twist through the stretch. Itβs perfect if you want to unwind from a busy, hectic day or cool down from training.
CAUTIONS
Avoid practicing this pose if you have a recent or chronic injury to your knees, shoulders, or neck. Those with back pain, back injuries, or degenerative disk disease should approach this pose with caution and should only attempt to practice it under the guidance of an experienced and knowledgeable instructor. Always work within your own range of limits and abilities.
INSTRUCTIONS
1. Start on all fours. Make a tabletop with your body
2. Stack your hips directly above your knees and position your elbows, shoulders, and wrists in a straight line perpendicular to the ground.
3. Lift your right hand up sending your gaze up with it and then follow your right hand down as you thread it beneath your left arm.
4. Sink into the stretch by keeping your hips high while allowing your chest to rest on or come close to the ground. Push your hips back and up and keep some pressure in your left palm to avoid crunching your neck.
5. Hold the position as long as youβd likeβa few seconds up to an entire minuteβand then switch sides.
6. To come out, press firmly into your left palm and slowly unthread your right arm reaching back up towards the sky, the gaze can follow. Return your right hand down to the ground back in tabletop. Repeat on the left side.
Breath and smile.

STRETCHING TO RELEASE LOWER BACK
The Piriformis muscle passes through a narrow space in the pelvic area. Spasm or contraction of this muscle can impinge on the Sciatic Nerve, causing pain in the lower back and hips, sciatica, weakening of leg muscle tone, and numbness.
This simple stretch can help alleviate discomfort in the lower back, hips and legs.
Use a pillow under the head if more comfortable, keep your shoulders and lower back on the ground. Cross the right leg over the left, with the right ankle resting on the left knee. Slowly lift the left foot off the floor and toward you. You should feel a deep stretch (not sharp or shooting pain) in the Right Glute (buttock), hip and outer thigh. Avoid if you have unhealthy knees.
Hold for 20-40 seconds, repeat 3-5 times both left and right.
Donβt forget to breathe........ and Smile
π« Visit me at The Nelson Market on Saturday from 8am -1pm for a therapeutic massage. Try it and feel the difference!
STRETCHING HAMSTRINGS TO RELIEVE LOWER BACK PAIN
The Hamstring muscles attach to the pelvis via the 'Sit Bones'. When tight these muscles pull on the Pelvis, tilting it backwards while flexing the lower back forwards. This changes the alignment of the spine, causing compression & pain in the lower back.
Doing this simple stretch regularly can help lengthen hamstrings, releasing the pelvis and realigning the spine.
With legs straight, use a strap or a towel and place around the ball of the foot. Inhale while drawing the belly button in towards the spine, protecting your lower back, gently raise the leg until you feel resistance and a stretch behind the knee. Breath and hold the stretch for 40seconds. Repeat 2-3 times each side.
While in the stretch, focus your attention on maintaining a straight knee, engage your quads and try to point your heel to the ceiling while pointing your toes towards your face, this will intensify the stretch.
Strengthening is also important here, try some air squats or hamstring curls with a resistance band.
This combination of stretching and strengthening will do wonders for your lower back.
