Wee update... our last day is MONDAY 28TH AUGUST. You have 25 days to come and get some good Apron grub in you. After that date it will be under new management (and we still don't have much info to give you on that front).

After six fun years serving the Onerahi community and regular passengers our time here is coming to an end.

28th August is our last day of trading and we would love to see you all lots before we leave!

Before anyone asks any questions, we don't know whats happening with the cafe - we are handing the cafe on to the airport. And we don't know what we're doing next.. probably sleeping for a while and then who knows.. life is an adventure!!

We've gone through a lot here together and have grown stronger & closer as The Apron whānau.

Still over here chugging away! Busy as ever and seriously neglecting social media.

First ever 100% GF morning tea for Bowling Infrastructure! Thankfully they remembered to take some photos for us!

For the next couple of weeks we will be operating a limited service & smaller selection.

As we have shared already, I am overseas with my whānau and between now and 10th January we have another staff member on annual leave.

Either Mel or Sarah will be here daily but what they can pump out will vary day by day.

If you are looking for a relaxed visit and can be patient & flexible with us we would love to see you. If you're looking for a sit down lunch and think you might be disappointed with a limited selection, it's probably best to come and see us after 10th Jan.

Me good mate Karl dropped a load of avos off for me today and wouldnt let us give him any coffees! He said to choose someone who looks like they deserve it.
I wanted to thank him by giving his business page a share.

We had two people ask us to stock their freezers with delicious kai this week. Here are a few of the meals.

One for her 86 year old Mum and another for their friends who have had a new baby.

As long as you buy in multiples of 4 (yes.. that meals 4 x lasagne, 4 x cottage pie etc) we can do it :D

You ask and we still deliver!

The following meals went to a guy who saw our sign last week, is up in Whangārei for work, staying with a work mate, and fed up of takeaways:

4 x Italian meatballs, mac n cheese & garlic roasted broccoli
4 x fish pie
4 x lasagne
4 x steak & cheese pie w/ mashed potato and sautéed green veggies

We can honour the whole of Keen Kitchen 's old menu, only catch is we only sell in multiples of 4.

Huge thanks to our pals at Hello Pickle for sussing the keto slices for us. Sharing is caring. Pictured is their keto pinky bar slice & their keto cheesecake brownie.

🌼 PART TIME POSITION AVAILABLE - Barista or front or house 🌼

* 15-20 hours per week.. Sometimes more and could go up for the right person.
* Flexible hours between 8am and 3pm, however one weekend day will be required
* Customer service, cleaning & food prep.. Coffee training etc in the future for the right person..
* If you are an experienced barista that's even better!
* Experience not compulsory but references, solid work ethic, reliability, your own transport, a positive attitude & a smile are a must!

Hey Apron fans!

In the last month all four of us little staff team have separately gone down with Covid, one at a time.

Sarah just got it yesterday, and between the cover the rest of us can provide we will be closed from 2.30pm today, closed all day tomorrow (Sunday), and only open between 8am and 1pm Monday & Tuesday.

We are pretty proud of ourselves that we have been able to stay open as much as we can. Please be patient and kind with us. The cabinet may not be as full as you are used to and we may be a bit slower 😝

We are all still struggling with fatigue and various Covid related long symptoms and our no. 1 priority is our health always.

What a day!!!

Thanks for your patience & support today. Blew our record day out of the water already (before today it was tsunami day if anyone remembers that one 😜) and have an afternoon and two more flights to get through!
