Love seeing these ladies every Monday. Through learning the benefits of yoga and adding it into their lives, they notice those incremental improvements, learning more about themselves each week and continue to want more, practice and learn through yoga âĻïļ ð
YOUR full potential is limitless, and maybe incomprehensible to you right now.
Step 1. Surround yourself with people already doing what you want to do, they will know that you can get there too, just like they once did. Listen to them, ask questions.
Step 2. BELIEVE
Step 3. Do something every day congruent with your goal. Be the person you want to become.
REPEAT
You only regret the things you DIDN'T do.
Don't go to the retirement home with regrets
Top Reasons why I get asked to train someone:
1) they don't want to look a d*ck
2) they want to train efficiently and not waste time
3) they know they need to "do something " about their health/body/changes they noticed as they age, but they don't know where to start or how to go about it.
4) they need to have someone waiting for them to make sure they show up (for themselves)!
If any of these resonate with you, you are 1 of the majority, you are certainly not alone.
Give me a call or message and let's do this! ðŠð
Funny thing with knowledge, is once you know something, you know it forever (unless you're a bit forgetful ... you can still remember again later) ... today I spent my morning well, gaining some more knowledge, sparking some flickers of new ideas and full on putting accelerant on a previously smouldering fire ðĨ ð ð
Stand by for progress reports on that to come...

Do you love what you "get to do" for "work"?
Just had a glorious 5hrs working at Zenith Fitness ððŠðïļââïļ I'm so lucky!
If you're beginning to navigate the "menopause chapter" of your life and it all feels a bit overwhelming, too much info, not enough info, too many changes going on and you don't quite know where to start, it's all a bit confusing, it's hard to remember everything... well if you can only keep two things in your mind let it be these two things ...
1. Eat lots of protein. (2g per kg of body weight every day). So if you weigh 70kgs, that's about 140g!! Have a look at what you're currently eating, are you getting that much?
2. Lift weights (2-3 x per week minimum) proven by many scientific studies to improve the body's management of menopause symptoms, which are many!! Not to mention this is absolutely necessary to maintain muscle mass and strong bones so you don't become a frail old lady later, prevents injuries, chronic diseases and illness. Improves quality of life.
Thoughts?
Sorry if this upsets you, but we are nearly half way through the year already! ðą
So I'm just checking in with you to see how you're going with those goals you made at the start of the year? ðŊ Are you making progress? â
ïļ. Are you where you wanted to be by now? â

As the days get chilly and the social calendar tends to be less busy, now is a good time to check in with yourself and your health. Are you committing some of your time to you and the body that you have to live in for the rest of your days? ðĶīðŦð§ ðŦðŠðĶĩ The more time you put in now, on purpose, will be repaid to you many times over in time to come ... and at that time it will be most important!
Tell me how it's going for you, I'm excited for you.
Send me a message if you need some guidance to fast track results or just need some help.
Did I take Pink Shirt Day too far?
Too much pink? ðĪ the shoes are pink too although they look white in the bright sunshine.

I used to have trouble sleeping when I worked in a high stress corporate office, worrying about my clients, had I forgotten something important, am I meeting all the deadlines, have I done the job right, after 28yrs I should know what I'm doing right?!
Now that I have chosen a career where I get to work with people helping them make their health and therefore their life better, and seeing them achieve things they thought they could never do, now I have trouble sleeping sometimes because I'm so deliriously happy, thinking about my day and the people I've met and talked to! It's a wonderful predicament to be in. ð

On my way out to take a yoga-stretch-balance-mobility class at a local retirement village. Can't wait for some lovely breath work. ð
Did you know yoga is one of life's greatest natural healers you can give yourself? I'll be here all day listing the benefits, but some of my favourites are:
> on the spot instant relaxer - learn to breathe and you can calm your racing heart, stress, anxiety or nervous system on the spot (sitting in traffic on the way to an important meeting for example)
> improves digestion - did you know that your digestion drives a huge portion of your brain function due to the central nervous system connection. That's why when we're nervous or a gut instinct "tells us" to make a certain choice, we feel it in our tummies.
> improves immunity - promotes creation of new blood cells
> improves sleep
> anti-depressant
> improves balance and flexibility (avoid falls and other injuries)
> speeds recovery of muscle soreness or muscular strains
> improves strength - it may look slow but your muscles a definitely working holding those poses and supporting your own bodyweight
> absolutely anybody can do it. It is called a practice because you are always practising for your own self improvement and own goals
Structured exercise prescribed by a professional that understands how the body works can make life changing improvements to one's life. I find the improvements this child now has absolutely magical âĻïļ but it's not magic it's science.
Important: not my client, video taken from insta showing what is possible through strength training
Got the matching set now!
Well, nearly matching, shame they changed the colour of the paper.
Women retain more water leading up to and during menstruation, so weight can fluctuate by 0.5 - 2.2kg!
Be kind to yourself xo.
Perfect running weather today, bit cooler than normal. Which is a bit early considering it's early February ð
Now that is a powerful statement! All completely true and only scraping the surface of what lifting weights has been proven by science can do for our bodies!
Making sure the kids get some daily movement and variety over the long school holidays.
Nb: my daughter came back so much more positive and energised, even got the washing in and hung out a load!! ð
HAPPY NEW YEAR!!
Top Tips for effective goal setting:
For goals to be truly effective, they need to be SMART:
S=SPECIFIC
M=MEASURABLE
A=ACHIEVABLE
R=REWARDING
T=TIMELY
Get specific with details, write down dates, times, event names, how long you've got to achieve the goal. It's gotta be measurable so you know when you've got there or how much further you've got to go. It's needs an end point so you can celebrate achieving your goal. Which brings us to achievable. It's gotta be achievable or you will feel like failing from the start. Still a challenge but achievable. So "i want to lose 10kg in January " that's unlikely but 1kg a week is achievable according to norms and with planning and consistent action, so a goal of 4kg in January would be a lot more effective. Rewarding, this is the fun part, is the goal exciting to you, do you really want it, what would achieving the goal mean to you, how would you feel!?
And lastly timely, are you allowing yourself enough time to achieve this goal, is it a realistic time frame, set yourself up for success. Maybe you have to take smaller steps towards a big goal, to also keep it achievable. Scarey goals are definitely recommended, absolutely they're the best kind!! But if you fancy yourself running an Ultra but haven't completed a 10k yet, maybe tick off the 10k goal first, then a half marathon or several , then ... well you get the picture.
Good luck and have fun working out your exciting goals that gets your heart racing in 2024!
If you need help making your goals SMART or you're not sure and just need a hand, flick me a message. I'm always happy to help people find what they are capable of, which is usually a lot more than they ever dreamed possible ð ð
As we get ready to welcome in 2024 I like to plan some goals for the new year ahead, something exciting, something meaningful, something to focus on and look forward to. I've never been a fan of "new year resolutions" they tend to leave a feeling of guilt, that I should be better, I've failed because they're the same as last year, they feel more like a chore than a challenge to work at over the course of the year.
I was so excited about my goals for 2024 I was up writing them at midnight on the 27th December because I couldn't sleep with excitement!! ð
So what is one exciting goal you're looking forward to achieving in 2024?
I am passionate about getting more people moving and creating opportunities for exercise, and if it happens to include a social aspect, even better!!
is the perfect gateway to starting a healthier, happier version of you. You never know who might be the next person who needs it or it helps so I'm always inviting people to come along and check it out. It really is an incredible organisation.
Now is the perfect time to check it out, over the holidays parkrun doesnt stop it ramps up!! ð I will be at all of the below dates except the Xmas Day one as duties call. But if you're a bit shy and need someone to meet you there, or know someone is waiting for you so you get out of that comfy bed ...then I will be there for you. Drop me a comment or message if you have any questions.
Let's get a head start on 2024 ð

Today a client told me her husband "...loves me! Who is this girl?!" ð
Because in her late 30s she has just joined the gym and had never been in a gym before in her whole life! And now has a completely different view on exercise...she's been keeping up the activity consistently for a few weeks now, going in for cardio sessions, weights and now group fitness classes. Adding movement and exercise to her routine is going to provide so many lifelong benefits. I'm so excited for her and now her husband is inviting her on dates at gym âĪïļâĪïļ
I love this job!! ðĨ°
