Building/Renovating ..Don't know where to start..Are you stuck for ideas.. Cannot find that colour .. Scared of getting it wrong.. Lets work together ..!
Interior Designer, Dulux and Resene Colour Consultant, Passionate about Design, Stylist
Yes, I make over boats.
Refreshing teal blues, creams, and existing treat timbers, replacing old golds and reds.
New upholstery, headboards, carpet, custom bedlinen.
Sometimes… my Dulux work involves fixing costly mistakes.
The developers of this new residential project wanted a brighter fresher contrasting colour.
The rusty bright orange/red they selected was …. just not right, it’s impossible to mimic natural kwila timbers.
I suggested this alternative .. heading into more the old golds of Dulux Omarama.
When starting any interior design - you need a beginning.
An image that evokes an emotion, a colour, fabric, art, photograph, a rug, or even grandmas chair X
For this new motorhome, l loved the spied the gorgeous neutrals
I based my other colour decisions around this fabric.
Chunky textured fabrics bring so much visual interest to a small space.
Tonal neutrals add a touch of elegance, sophistication and calm.
Adding deeper tones with the furniture colour adds depth.
Little thought for Monday 😊
Changing out feature pillows and throws is an easy win for a quick bedroom refresh.
We even spruced up the lampshades with craft paint which we watered down.
The coverlet is 8 years old and will do many more years.
Buying once and well, works out cheaper in the long term for a consistent elegant look.
We couldn’t have picked a better day for a site visit.
Is too early at framing stage to discuss window treatments ?
NO … we are wanting to motorize all of our blinds - hardwire not battery controlled.
Wiring needs to be in place before the cladding. Data cables too if you would like to access your window treatments remotely.
Client would have like motorized drapes - instead we are going to flush mount our tracks in to the beautiful ashen timber ceilings.
I was really taken with this stunning fabric fabric from and made a throw yesterday.
The design is Interlaken, a mix mostly of linen with synthetics adding the slub and texture.
Taking my time to remove the weft thread (horizontal) then machine stitching to save further unraveling.
Great afternoon with a few of my fellow Karaka Women’s Institute friends.
Making hospital buddies for the children in hospital awaiting procedures.
The Doctors draw on the buddies where scars may be made or drip lines inserted.
Breast Cancer Pillows for mastectomy ladies. Just a little soft something to ease the discomfort.
Old Hotel Sheets are donated to us along with fabric houses deleted lines of cotton fabrics.

For this new motorhome, l loved the spied the fabric
I based my other colour decisions around this fabric.
Fabric is headboard destined, then l added the lacquer neutrals - furniture - flooring upholstery - kitchen etc
Just loving the putty / clay / earth inspired tones at the moment.
Going bold on this headboard for my motorhome clients.

Do you have a tricky window requiring window treatments ?
We used a fine track we could arch onsite, with minimal style brackets, so the track didn’t appear bulky.
We went as straight across as we could … as drapes are not great at staying uphill.
I drew to scale the window and widths/heights so my fabulous sewers could make the slight curves in the fabric.
I’m not usually a fan of puddling drapes, but we did so I could be sure the drapes would stay closed.
My client waited 10 years to do this as she wasn’t sure what could be done.
The sun is setting on our last evening in Cairns ✖️
From the old living rain forest on earth - Daintree National Forest to the majestical Great Barrier Reef - to those damn noisy parrots ✔️
Ooh and did you spy the spider - thank goodness for zoom 😬
Just loving the beauty, textures and shapes of beach life.
I am pretty sure I spied crocodiles in one of my distant shots too, just hanging out at the end of the beach 😬
A win not to see snakes or spiders ✔️
Stripping back to the 1920s bare bones, to be rebuilt into a gorgeous new luxury kitchen.

Walking the 4Mile Beach at Port Douglas.
Felt like 10miles on the way back.
Beautifully warm @27 degrees ✔️
Clever little crabs ✔️
OMG … a dream come true, to witness and experience the solar lights.
The colours are rich and just incredible.
Mother Nature … simply perfect 🥰
Man Made Stone has its place, but my heart lies in the work of art that is nature.
Yes, stone is not bulletproof proof as many modern materials claim to be, I would rather invest in something that is unique, beautiful, and brings enjoyment every time I am in the space.
No two pieces of stone are ever really the same - climatic changes over millions of years give each piece its individual beauty and colour.
Oh and green - so many tones ✔️
Sneek Peek of my pics from function last night.
A good cause close to my heart.
I was a Scout Leader and on the Scouting Committee for over 10 years when my 4 sons were young.
So when this Dulux Lead came through I was happy to give my time to assist.
This building had been rescued from fire and vandalism along with being relocated, before being repurposed.
Many hours/years were spent by the Motutara-Waimaku Scout Group and community to bring their vision to life.
So proud to be asked to attend the opening recently.
Yes … I have my own fabulous upholster that can whip you up a squab.
I do all my own measuring too✔️
Do love a little top stitching.
Fabric Check List
Make sure the fabric is suitable for a squab - I usually a rub count of 30 000 plus.
Check the UV rating particularly on darker fabrics.
Check the composition of fabric - most synthetic fabrics are best as they hold their shape, easy to spot clean, wear well, and less prone to staining.
ANAZAC DAY
Remembering those that fought so bravely, and gave their lives so we may live in peace

Dulux clients from 2017 recently emailed to say they have put their wee home in the market.
Everyone comments on the colours we selected then and how relevant they still are today, and more importantly the clients still love the scheme.
We used 1/4 Narrow Neck, Sandstone Grey, Double Wairakei and 1/4 Coopers Beach.
Dulux Wairakei is a beautiful soft grey with a hint of green, this works perfectly with Rimu and Kauri flooring.
Are you after an enduring colour scheme?
Getting air b n b ready.
1/2 Pukaki - a soft complex grey with blue undertones.
Just perfect with our wonderfully soft palm print burn out sheer, from and
blinds adding a nice clean contrast.

Adding the finishing touches with window treatments.
Looking at the spaces, function of the room, and what’s outside play a big part in selecting the perfect window dressing, while also taking budgets into account.
I am here to advise the perfect solution not just product selling.
In the main living space, we selected a one piece almost solid fabric. It drapes like sheer, but has the advantage of just being able to see through. Adding ambiance and softness to a large floor to ceiling window without being super bulky and fussy.
Polyester composition sheers absorb sound, diffuse light, and add a luxurious feel, while being able to withstand our intensive afternoon sun.
A touch of metallic for the home theatre room.
I do all my own measuring, quoting, and assist with installation! Gorgeous window dressings are not expensive.
