We open our shop during alert level 3 with some limitations.
You could buy sushi packs at our shop. We will display sushi pack images on our window so that you could choose. We would then present you your sushi packs and eftpos terminal. PayWave is available.
Other meals could be ordered on 562-8552 or our Click and Collect website, matakite.co.nz. Preferred way to order is through our website especially during Covid Alert Level 2 and 3. Once we complete your order, we would notify you through your email so that you could pick it up. What you would do is Click on our website and Collect.
We would take web order until 7pm. After 7pm, please call us.
Depending on the number of orders at a particular time, pickup-ready time could vary. If you would want your order as soon as possible, please avoid ordering during lunch and dinner peak times.
Thanks,

Hi Everyone!
We have two fried chicken dishes. It has been about two month since we introduced those and feedback has been excellent! The top image is KYC (Korean Yangneum Chicken) and the below is KDC (Korean Deep-fried Chicken).
Both comes with 15 good sized chicken wings (minimum). Could be more if size is smaller.
Process of cooking those needs to take more time (usually 25~30 mins, sometimes more) to prepare, season and deep fry chicken wings. Please understand this. You could always order through phone, Facebook message or from our 'Order & Collect' website listed in our page. On our website, please search KYC or KDC.
If you have any question, please let us know.
Regards,
Matakite

Hi All,
For our local customers, we have created our ‘Order & Collect’ website which is https://matakite.co.nz/ Our website would be operational from tomorrow.
The attached image is how our website is look like. You could always come back to the homepage from any page by clicking ‘Matakite’ logo at the top.
As you would see, we have 6 categories. In categories, you could put into cart by clicking basket icon just below your meal. If you already know what you want, your ordering process would be faster in this way. But, for hamburgers, you would need to visit meal page to select your choices for patty, toppings and sauces.
If you visit each meal page (by clicking meal image in category pages), you would see a brief information about each meal. There, if you place your cursor on the image or touch the image on your smart devices, then that part of image would be magnified. Or you could just click the magnifying glass icon on the image to see bigger photo.
You do not need to have an account with us, but we would need your first name, mobile number and email address during Checkout process. If you join an account, however, you would see what you ordered before. Joining account would be beneficial if you want to try different meals.
We only included some limited number of Sushi boxes in the website. As usual, there would be more delicious sushi in our shop.
For more information, please click ‘Contact and Other info’ menu at the top.
Looks completed if you read this, but we tried to make our website minimalistic and user friendly as possible. We welcome any feedback, grammar correction or different word choices on our website.
Thank you for reading and good night

Hi everyone!
We are open today with Alert Level 2 precautions.
We are at the final stage of building our 'Order & Collect' website. Hopefully, we could correctly set it up by this weekend.
Regards,
Julie & John
Hi All,
We will open during Alert Level 3 from this Tuesday, 28th April, with strict measures advised by the Government.
During Alert Level 3, we would take phone orders and you could collect them from a table by the entrance. When orders are ready, we would place them by the shop window(inside) with order details. Please let us know your items by pointing your order
Preferred pay method would be payWave where you wave your payWave enabled Credit/Debit card on our Eftpos keypad on the table. If you need to touch Eftpos keypad, then please wear disposable glove provided on the table. After the payment, carefully remove glove and dispose it into the rubbish bin underneath the table. Not preferred, but if you wish to pay cash, then please place the exact cash on a tray provided.
We will be developing a convenient and user-friendly ‘Order & Collect’ system where you could order and pay online. But that would take a couple of weeks since we currently do not have takeaway menu photos yet.
For meal menu, please visit following facebook menu page
https://www.facebook.com/matakitelaboratory/menu/

Hi everyone,
We are currently closed. We will reopen once our Government lowers the Alert level.
Take care everyone
Hi everyone,
As you know, the Coronavirus situation is changing dramatically around the world. Here is some information from the Ministry of Health
* How it spreads
Coronavirus can be spread from person to person by droplets containing the virus. It can also be spread by touching infected surface or objects and then touching your mouth, nose or eyes.
* Prevention
- Social distancing (avoid physical contacts, keep distance when talking)
- Not touching mouth, nose or eyes with hands – if necessary, use tissue
- Washing hands with soap as often
- Wearing mask if you have – Mask prevents droplets both ways, you to others and others to you
**How we operate**
- We will clean surface as often as possible such as table, eftpos keypad, drink refrigerator etc where customers would need to contact.
- We will try to serve customers with less talk. It is a preventive measure against coronavirus. We may wear mask at later stage.
**Ordering and Payment Suggestions**
- Order by phone or Facebook message – these would promote less contact.
- Eftpos card or credit card payment (cashless payment)

Hi all,
Our telephone line is not currently working. For phone oder, please call Julie on 021-176-4432.
Regards,
Dear All,
Julie would be back tomorrow. Thank you for your understanding and supporting us.
As you are aware, we cannot provide plastic carry bag due to the recent law change effective from 1st of July. Please bring your own carry bag when you order our meal takeaways. We believe it is a small start to save our environment for future generations
Alternatively, we could supply paper carry bags with handles for 50 cents each. Sushi pocket paper bags would still be free for sushi takeaways.
We are sorry, our shop would be closed until 7th of July.
Julie just came back from Auckland hospital. Julie had had injections from 24th June to mobilise stem cell which could then be extracted from her blood, but that injections did not work. After numerous blood tests and bone marrow test, her bone marrow was finally extracted from her hip bones and transplanted it to her sister yesterday. Hope her sister would be ok.
We were advised that it would take a week for Julie to recover from the operation which means that we would need to be closed until 7th July. We are sorry for the inconvenience
