Open to all genders this clinic is aimed at young anglers who are interested in learning more about competition angling, and will be supported by some of New Zealand’s top competitive anglers.

Chromers ❄️

Had an awesome time competing over the last week at the 2024 World Fly Fishing Champs where I was super happy to finish in 8th place.

The competition was held in the French Pyrenees across five sectors. Three were on rivers (Tet, Vicdessos and Aude rivers, the later of which featured grayling as well as brown trout) and two on high mountain lakes at over 2000m elevation (the Camporells and Carlit lakes).

The competition was very well organised and was a great experience to be a part of. The fishing was very technical targeting wild fish at the different venues all of which required different approaches in terms of tactics and methods. It was also great to see old friends and make some new ones!

Big thanks to everyone that has supported me and helped me get to the competition, particularly my teammates (both present at the competition this year and not), family, mates, as well as to everyone that came along to my Euro nymphing clinics for fundraising.

A few photos from what’s been a really enjoyable training week here in France learning some tactics for fishing the local mountain lakes and rivers to prepare for the world fly fishing champs next week. Opening ceremony tomorrow before the first session kicks off on Monday!
