OMEGA® has an onsite IANZ accredited testing facility, capable of testing products for weather tightness (NZS4211), hardware durability (cyclic testing) and accelerated corrosion testing. This gives our customers peace of mind that their new windows & doors will stand up to New Zealand's harshest conditions for many years to come. OMEGA® has long been a market leader in thermally broken joinery. Our thermally broken products are tested to the same rigorous standards as our non-thermal products, along with thermal heat-loss modelling (verified by BRANZ) so our customers have the confidence in choosing OMEGA® high performing thermally broken windows & doors.
Last week we showed you Omega BOP's step-by-step manufacturing process , turning surface finished extrusion into the final product, Omega windows & doors. This week, we want to show you a condensed version of our manufacturing process so you can see how Omega Windows + Doors joinery is extruded, surface finished and tested. Our manufacturing process begins with recycling scrap aluminium sourced from other NZ extruders, this scrap is melted down at our onsite remelt facility and cast into billet which is used in the extrusion of our aluminium joinery profiles. The billet is sent to one of our two extrusion presses to be turned into Omega Windows + Doors joinery profiles. After the extrusion process, our joinery profiles are sent off to be powder coated at one of our two powder coating lines. Our powder coating team can powder coat your joinery to match your project requirements. For our thermally broken aluminium products, before these are powder coated, the joinery profiles are sent off to our Aluroller to add in the polyamide strip which guarantees superior insulation for year-round comfort in your home. To ensure our products perform at their best, our product suites are put through various tests at our onsite IANZ accredited testing facility. Omega Windows + Doors joinery products are Toitū carbonreduce certified – you can be confident that you are choosing a New Zealand-made, low carbon, higher recycled content product. Contact your local Omega Windows + Doors fabricator to discuss your specific needs and discover how our sustainable, high-performing products can elevate your next project. #OmegaWindowsDoors #NZMade #SustainableManufacturing #RecycledAluminium #PowderCoating #ThermalEfficiency #IANZTested #ToituCarbonReduce #LowCarbon #JoineryNZ #HomeImprovement #ManufacturingProcess #AluminiumExtrusion #ArchitecturalProducts

Sustainability is at the core of what we do at Omega Windows + Doors. Through our parent company McKechnie Aluminium Solutions, we are the only aluminium extruder in NZ with a remelt facility. We are proud to produce Toitū carbonreduce certified products. With an on-site remelt cast house, we have total control of the casting process which is important for ensuring consistency in the quality of aluminium logs we produce for extrusion. By using recycled aluminium scrap from our manufacturing process and scrap sourced from other NZ extruders, we are doing our bit to save the environment. The energy consumed to make extrusion from recycled aluminium is 10 times less than the energy required to make an equivalent amount of extrusion from virgin aluminium sourced from the aluminium smelters. Choose Omega Windows + Doors for sustainable, high-quality joinery.
Omega Windows + Doors has been producing thermally broken extrusions for over 10 years. We use the zipping method where a polyamide strip (or multiple strips depending on the extrusion) is mechanically knurled and rolled to join two pieces of extrusion. The zipping method provides a long-lasting, durable mechanical bond between the inner and outer extrusions, and won’t come apart even after many years of in-service use. The polyamide strip is highly resistant to heat transfer ensuring that heat from the inside of your home is not lost to the outside. Choose Omega Windows + Doors for your next project requiring thermally broken joinery.
