Half way of our sewing lessons we made a make up bag and learn how to put the zipper on the girls are doing so well I really enjoy teaching them 😊 so far they learn how to cut and sew a skirt, Lavalava, quilt and some other things I am super proud of them all here sre some photos of our learning experience 😊

The girls are wearing their Samoan Lavalava that they learn how to make it on our 3rd session. She showed her finished work quilt for the 1st session how great is this we've done body measurements as well 👏

As a tailor and a dress maker I am honored to be involved helping this group of Pacific Ladies teaching them how to enjoy themselves in doing something not only will help them but their families as well, that's the end of session 2 everyone takes home an apron for their kitchen, my mom's gift from God she passed it on to me will live on this Ladies in years to come 😊

Meet Upper Hutt local Melesete 👋👋 Melesete and her husband Mouena have opened Dorcas Eunike Tailoring - a tailoring, alterations, and repairs business right here in Upper Hutt 😍

Melesete’s mother was a seamstress in their village in Samoa and taught to Melesete to sew and created the passion for sewing. This passion came with an amazing career, sewing for The Lord of the Rings and fashion brand Ashley Fogel! 🤩🪡💜

The name of their business ‘Dorcas Eunkike Tailoring’ is packed with history. Dorcas was a Christian woman of the New Testament who made clothing for the poor and Eunike is Samoan for Eunice, Melesete and Mouena’s daughter’s middle name 🥰

If your pants need shortening, a zip fixing, a hole repaired or anything to do with sewing, pop in and meet the lovely Melesete at 📍 208 Main Street, just up the road from McDonalds. Open Monday to Saturday, closed Sundays.
