Waihi Croquet Club

Waihi croquet club would like to thank STIHL SHOP WAIHI for sponsoring our 3rd Winter AC Tournament held at Waihi yesterday. We attracted players from Waihi, Whangamata, Mt Maunganui, Katikati, Morrinsville and Hamilton. Although cold, a great day was had by all (and the soups for lunch went down well) and the winners were Section One Clive Taylor (Katikati), runner up Simon Macaskill (Hamilton East). Section Two winner Lesley Chapman (Waihi) runner up Matt Hodgetts (Waihi). Special mention to Carol Woodd (Waihi) who was 2nd equal in Section one but lost the pegoff to Simon.
Once again a big thankyou to Stihl Shop Waihi for the sponsorship of our club, we're a small amateur club and really appreciate the support from our local community, so shop local!!!

Waihi croquet club held this years first winter AC tournament, kindly sponsored by OceanaGold Waihi . Players from Mt Maunganui, Katikati, Whangamata, Morrinsville, Waihi and Hamilton East clubs braved a chilly morning to play 2 games of drawn pairs. The winners were:
Section One 1st Simon Macaskill (Ham East) 2nd Malcolm Cawley (Mt Maunganui) 3rd Clive Taylor (Katikati).
Section Two 1st Paul Warner (Mt Maunganui) 2nd Lesley Chapman (Waihi) 3rd Ross Sutton (Waihi).

Waihi croquet club has had its AGM and would like to welcome Elizabeth Jackson back as our President. Liz has done an excellent job as President in the past and takes over from Anne Hatton who has taken up the treasurers role. Thanks goes to Anne who has done a great job as President this last year.

We would also like to say a HUGE heartfelt thankyou to OceanaGold Waihi for tremendous support going back 10+ years.
