I am proud to be the first Registered Dental Hygienist (RDH) from Quebec, the french province in Canada, who got his registration and license to practice here in Aotearoa.
I earned my Diploma in Dental Hygiene almost a decade ago from a national accredited College in Longueuil, Canada.
Since then I have actively explored many facets of the dental universe such as Advance Gum Treatments and Care, Orthodontics (Invisalign), Implantology, Preventive Dentistry (ICON, Sealants), Whitening (Zoom!, LumiBrite) and much more.
I had the chance to practice alongside many great dentists. Where I was able to learn, develop and perfect my skills as the years went by.
My professional journey began when the first dentist that decided to take me under his wing to share his passion and wits was Dr Philippe Buu.
His class and great attention to detail were transmitted to me over the two years I practiced work at his futuristic clinic. There I patiently learned to perfect my hygiene skills and to offer a smooth and classy service to all my patients.
Just to mention, I have been passionate about arts ever since I was old enough to hold a pencil. My father played a big roll encouraging me to develop my precision and drawing skills. Therefore, my sensitive touch to the pencil or to any brush allows me to express my interpretations of feelings, movements and emotions as I draw delicate lines to create portraits or representations of whatever surrounds me.
My adventure continued for almost two years at the Galerie Dentaire in Montreal. An out of the ordinary dental clinic that combined contemporary arts and dentistry. It was the perfect place for me to grow. Dr Marc R***r and his team thought me many precious skills that allowed me to be specialized in Advanced Gums Treatments. They also opened a new window for me in the Orthodontics world with training for Invisalign treatments.
Treating my patients is like drawing the perfect image. I love to give myself entirely through the services I provide. I cannot allow a patient to leave my chair with the feeling of dissatisfaction. So I please myself by offering the highest quality possible by giving all my attention, precision and gentleness to every aspect of my work.
Also, being exposed to various artists and different forms of modern arts pushed me to get my hands active outside of the clinic. And to work on some small projects.
Working at this socially engaged clinic allowed me to take part in different events for organizations such as ACCM (a volunteer-driven community organization that provides support services and treatment information to people living with HIV/AIDS and/or hepatitis C.)
The next five years of my adventure happened on the other side of a historical bridge off the Island of Montreal, in a beautiful city called Longueuil.
The “Clinique Dentaire St-Charles” was the place where I was able to work with over 10 different dentists and with a big intercultural team of more than 25 employees.
At this great clinic, all my skills were utilized to cope with a diversified range of services provided (Crown-Bridge-Veneer Digital Design, Traditional Orthodontics, Invisalign, Whitening, Periodontics, Preventive Dentistry (Sealants, ICON, Fillings), Prostodontics, Cosmetic Dentistry, Dental Surgery and more) to provide all the necessary care for our wide clientele of all ages and from all over the world. This last detail allows me to tell you about something else about me.
I am also passionate about communication. Fluently speaking in 4 languages (English, French, Polish and Mauritian Creole) and comprehending many others such as Spanish and Eastern European languages. This greatly helped me to understand and to reach many patients in their native tongue to help them comprehend their health condition and to help them improve it. Kiwi English and Maori are the next ones on my list!
I pushed my communication skills further by attending courses at the Montreal Institute of Human Integral Formation. This enabled me to develop my unique and personal approach to treat my patients with a more mindful, open and creative fashion without the feeling of being rushed. Always giving myself enough time to provide the highest quality of care and information.
My journey is far from being over. It continues here, in New Zealand. Where I started to welcome my first patients in Te Aro, Wellington. I am proud to be working alongside the brilliant and fantastic Dr Navin Vithal at the Tennyson Dental Center where I will be able to provide most of my services and learn new skills in the near future as this is an innovating clinic. Dr Navin and his team are always on the lookout for better ways to help meet their patients needs.
