The 100th McEvedy Shield athletics meeting will take place on Tuesday 7 March 2023 at Newtown Park, Wellington.

There are 14 track and field events in the competition across four age groups (under 14 years, under 15 years, under 16 years and over 16 years ('open')). For each event in each age group a win is worth four points, a second place three points, a third two points and a fourth one point.
