Abby Rainbow - Intuitive Life Coach
I'm Abby Rainbow, an intuitive life coach here to bring a woo-woo and no-nonsense approach to my work.
I empower women to find their voice, speak their truth, and accomplish their heart centered goals.
If you told Baby Abby 10 even 9 years ago that she would be in an 8 year loving ever-growing relationship starting soon, where we will grow to create a home with a dog, and be expecting their first babe - she would have laughed and then cried in your face.
I never thought this would happen for me and I'm beyond grateful to be on this journey with this guy. I'm also very proud of myself to learn and grow to accept someone to love me and be open to loving them too.
Unlike what I was taught when I was a young girl, relationships are not fixes, they are not the be all and end all . But they are a fulfilling beautiful journeys and one where you get to choose the person who walks with you, a best friend to do life with.
Acknowledgment of two humans (or more if that's your thing) in a relationship where you have space to learn and grow.
Whatever situation you're in, allow yourself to be human and your authentic self. You are going to change, grow and learn more about yourself as your get older. Do it with compassion and love, and sometimes you might find someone (friend or lover) to do that with you.
Sharing love with you all today 💜
Throwback to my birthday roast 💕
Honestly it might be because I'm English, but there is nothing better than an Sunday roast. Especially with all the trimmings and yorkshires.
Being pregante (sp on purpose, iykyk) has really thrown the spotlight on "what not to eat" and in general how to eat. As someone who grew up in the 90s with the continuous talk of food pressure, and weight shaming its really thrown me for a loop.
The old narrative in my head being whether I'm a good person or not depending on my food choices becoming louder again. Which is the craziest thing to contemplate during the journey of pregnancy!
Eating out or picking up lunch is the trickest, luckily little Spud is growing strong and is aptly named after my overall constant craving for hot chips. So if there isn't much option, hot chips it is..
Its been an eye opener to see that I've come a lot further than I had previously acknowledged. I can tell that old narrative (I call her Barbara) to f*** off. I know its shocking Barbara but I'm not a bad person for eating hot chips and being as skinny as Twiggy aint the goal so hush your damn mouth.
Old narratives and stories we have been taught are always there in the back of our mind. It is how much power we give to them, is how we let them effect us.
It is a journey, of course, and some days Barbara might be a little louder than others, but underneath her chatter you know the truth x
Time with the pup in the park.
Pregnancy is a wild ride! Walking the same path but slower and starting to feel heavy. We are a couple weeks out of third trimester and I can't believe I'm here.
Following the path of life and taking the trips along the way. What I've learnt is that it's all about how we react to life's lessons and not the madness that comes along.
Keep going and growing your tool kit to respond to life, you never know where the path will take you. 💕

Happy International Kurī Day to my laundry gremlin.
I hope you got to cuddle, or pat or at least smile at a kurī today. There's nothing like a furry friend to be by your side no words (some woofs). They are the best cuddles. The best companions to hīkoi through life with you. 💜🐶
What are you focusing on? Where are you looking in your life? Where are you paying attention in your life?
Your brain is a beautiful and intricate computer that will show you all the data for the things that you are focusing on. The Reticular Activating System will show you what you are thinking about, the RAS is filter/sieve. For example, when you’re out and about, take a moment to think about red cars. I can guarantee you the RAS will show you all of the red cars around, making them stand out from the environment around you because your brain is focusing on the evidence for ‘red cars’. This could lead you to believe that there are sooooo many red cars on the road today, but really, these cars and all the other colours would have been there regardless its all about what you focus on.
You can choose what you focus on, and the brain will show you the evidence that you may have missed. This is the same for negative or positive influences in your life, what you choose to focus on can be filtered to become more apparent to you. This is not some airy fairy stuff, this is how your brain works. It is your choice to use it to help you.
What do you choose to focus on today?
Is this my affirmation for the day? Maybe. Is this skimming the service of the manifestation equation that we are starting talking about around here? Yes!
Women are f*ckin magical.
To have a circle of strong, creative, individual, nurturing, loud, comforting women around me is one of life's greatest gifts.
I would not be where I am without these women.
Respect, love, cherish and hug the women in your life.
Happy International Women's Day.
A year ago I officiated my first wedding for these adorable beautiful humans.
I adore being part of the big day and creating a ceremony to mark the start of a new chapter.
I'm so excited to continue creating ceremonies for couples this year.
Happy anniversary Barclay's xx
SUNFLOWERS 🌻
They follow the sun, the sun fuels them and they shine beautifully. They all so different from each other.
Short. Tall. Thick stem. Thin stem. Open. Closed. Plate sized flowers and saucer sized.
The sunflowers do not worry about how the look and what they do to follow the sun it's in their nature. They don't question their worth, or whether they're allowed to grow and flourish.
It's in our nature to follow what brings us joy. To follow the spark in your soul, to know what feels good like the sun shining on your face.
You are worthy of facing the sun, you are worthy of growing to your potential because you are you.
Let's be like sunflowers and face the sun together 💛 🌻
Do you know what brings you joy?
What makes you feel light up?
Choose to do the things that light you up and fill your cup.
On Friday I had a "f*ck it" moment and told my friend who lives two train rides away that I was coming over for the day. It was the best decision. Spending time with friends, swimming in the cold river, picking sunflowers and having delcious food.
I would have been too worried about getting the trains wrong or doing something wrong. But with a little help from partner and friend we made it work. It was the loveliest time!
Im taking this "f*ck it" attitude moving forward this year. Today I was running late, my alarm didn't go off and I almost put my workout (first one for ) because I didn't have the time. But I said FCK IT and did it. I feel so much better and although I'm not on the train I'd like timing wise it's not going to stop me having a good day because I started by filling up my cup.
How are you going to fill up your cup today? I'd love to know!
Ending the year looking at giant carrots with friends, family and adorable kids.
What a doozy of 2022. I am feeling tired, but refreshed for this new year, I'm really taking stock of a new chapter with this hanging of the new calendars.
Looking forward we are bringing in changes, focusing on living this life to the fullest. Grabbing life by the horns.
I want to share with this community how I learn to take up space, share my stories/lessons and work together to become stronger, louder, empowered humans.
Thank you for sticking with me this year, I appreciate the messages, the reading requests and the love.
Wishing you a spectacular new chapter and a peaceful transition into 2023 xx
I am incredibly lucky to have the support around me that I do. When I miscarried earlier this year the troops gathered and surrounded us with love. I didn't only just have a partner I was fortunate to have but I had friend and my Mum with practical support, and the time I needed.
This is not the entire list, this is just some key items and thought I found helpful.
This was a very privledged place to be, so i hope that if you have a person in your life going through something similar that this may be helpful for you too.
The most important part is acknowledge the pain they're in and tell them you love them.
Thank you my small and mighty troop 💜

TW: Pregnancy Loss & Miscarriage
We don't talk about miscarriage enough, what to expect, when to know to get some help or how to support ourselves or our partners. I want to help with things I have learnt through my experience.
I had what could be percieved as a text book miscarriage, I was told what to expect and I experienced it step by step. It was still nothing short of horrific. There isn't any comfort for the event itself, but my hope is that this short list can make things a little easier for someone going through it.
•Dark Towels - I got these intially to avoid staining my white towels but also it helps in the moment for less contrast visually. There is no avoiding the blood so having something dark helps.
•Comfy Dark trackpants. Something comfy to wear with a bonus of it being dark coloured.
•Hot water bottle and wheatpacks - my partner was on heating duty when they started to cool down. They help a lot with the cramps, just like a regular period if you experience those.
•Water & electrolytes -your body is doing a lot remember to keep hydrated and keep up nutrients anyway you can.
•Paracetamol or Ibruprofen - our midwife suggested this to take the edge off, so of course taking into consideration your own body if you can take these as directed they help.
•Herbal tea - I would make some to smell for a mindful technique but also for calming properties of the teas.
•Tissues -But get good quality ones so they don't cause even more irritation
*Not pictured but also very important is period underwear. I got a couple of heavy duty pairs for sleeping in, wear while waiting for things to happen and for afterwards. Due to the nature of the situation I bought mine from The Warehouse "lula" but there are others like that I'd be keen to try for a regular cycle.
This are practical items that helped me. I want to make note that each situation and person body is different, please take this into consideration and listen to health proffesionals for medical advice.
My intention for this is for help ease some practical worries of what to do when someone else is miscarrying from home.
With a lot of love 💜

As the graduates flood the streets of Wellington today I can't help but look back at my own graduation and the lifetime it feels since then.
This photo is 10 years ago 2012. I graduated with a BSc in Psychology & Theatre.
This beautiful young talented kind woman was already carrying grief that she didn't understand. On top of that she was also scurrying around to make everyone happy. Giving herself completely to unhealthy friendships and relationships in order to find the acceptance she so desperately craved.
Its not to say that I was unhappy, I did have some great times and have some great friend still from this time. Its just it wasn't ever from my authentic place.
When I look at this picture I remember feeling so out of place in the ceremony, we were lined up alphabetically and I was between a biologist and a physics majors. A girl called Abby Rainbow with Theatre in her Science degree wasn't really on the same vibe.
Since this degree, I've gone on to do Health Psychology Diploma & Life Coaching Certificate. Sometimes I forget that I know this, I have been studying people and how they mahi for YEARS.
Taking a moment to acknowledge all of the learning I have done and the work I've done to be where I am today. Such a beautiful moment for a reality check on that Imposter Syndrome.
Take a moment to see how far you've come! Life goes so quickly and it's time to really appreciate how much work we really do each damn day.
What is your landmark moment to look back on? 👀
This isn't the best lit, well framed or flattering photo. This is just an average photo of me looking at my puppy.
What I've come to understand is that I'm not the coach that's going to perfect a pose, perfect the lighting or filter myself until I'm Instaperfect. But I'm also a coach/person that loves a pose, photoshoot and symmetry. I can show you both.
I find myself stilted behind perfection, behind "nothing" to say. Waiting for permission.
I HAVE SO MUCH TO SAY.
I grant myself permission today.
Staying in my own lane. I have realised that my lane is full of glitter, colour, authenticity, mess, connection, grief, woo woo, oracle cards, creativity, frustration, angst, compassion, big cups of tea, giant hugs and loud expressions of love.
Amongst solid care, listening, analogies galore, I bring my experience and intuition to all my clients.
As a coach I am me and WE work together to move you forward in your life. We are incredible humans, and WE have got this.
Don't hide behind perfection or permission to take your next step. Give it to yourself. 💕
