Fancy easing into the long weekend by not having to cook dinner?
Hataitai School warmly invite you, your family and friends to gather together and celebrate Matariki by joining us here at school on Thursday 27 June anytime from 4:00pm to 7:00pm.
We have two well known food trucks coming - Garuda and Baxters (see attached), along with the good old fashioned sausage sizzle. Brownies & ice cream for dessert or perhaps a marshmallow stick to roast over the open fire.
In case there is a light shower of rain, the hall will be set with tables and chairs for your comfort along with live entertainment - music by David Greer.
All monies raised will go towards the cost of our Ngā Wai and Ahi camps this year.
Please help spread the word to the wider Hataitai Community and encourage them to come along and join in the festivities.
Hey everyone, did you see the latest post from our Hataitai School parents group about the fair next Sunday (24th March) and the fair auction catalogue:

Hataitai School celebration and official opening on 3rd March.
Come celebrate with us and see the school in action!
Official opening commences at 10am.
Good news! On Friday 3 March 2023 we will be celebrating the School's Centenary which had to be deferred over the last 2 years. Details have yet to be determined but please put the event in your diaries. It's likely to start at the school late morning and last for the afternoon. It will include some entertainment from the pupils and tours of the new classrooms and facilities.
Arrangements will also be made for gatherings of past pupils and other interested parties in the evening. Some class groups may wish to get together on Saturday 4 March too.
All details will be advised early in the new school year.

Hataitai Centenary CANCELLED
Sadly, we have decided to cancel the centenary events. A great deal of time and planning has gone into this event but given the present Covid-19 circumstances, we cannot go ahead with the plans for the event to place in April following the postponement from 2021.
Thanks to everyone involved and to those of you who bought tickets last year (which have all been refunded). The children have put a lot of effort into researching the past 100 years and that work will not go to waste and we hope to share that with you in early 2023 at the opening of the school building after works are all complete.
Hataitai School will be 100 years old this year and as you can see from some of the photos here, things looked a bit different then! Do you have any old photos, memorabilia or stories to share with us? How about older brothers, sisters, parents, grandparents, great-grandparents, uncles and aunties - do they have some great memories to share about Hataitai school, Hataitai Village and Wellington. Share them with us to help us compile a wonderful collection of Hataitai history for our school and community. Email us or pop into the office, we would be delighted to hear from you.
