We've been asked to submit an application for a large grant, which would be a game changer for the project here in Wellington. The funding will help us begin collecting your unwanted heads and frames from Wellington central all the way up to Kāpiti, as well as set up more filleting services.

The funders seem keen on Kai Ika, but we really want to give it our best shot and we need your help. We would like to include in our submission a whole bunch of messages to show that if they back it, people will use it.

Since we first put word out, Felix from Capital Fishing has been a huge encouragement and support to us.

As someone who catches fish himself, he knows that nobody wants to see any of it go to waste. And with a young daughter who loves to fish, he also knows we need to look after our marine environment for future generations. For him, Kai Ika was a no-brainer, so he's been doing what he can to help the project succeed - including becoming our first local business sponsor.
