Exquisite Compliments: Printing Underlena's Striking Compliment Slips
At Colourcraft, we understand that businesses need to leave a lasting impression on their clientele. So when Maxine from Underlena the renowned Wellington-based lingerie brand, entrusted us with the task of producing compliment slips that reflected their brand's quality, we had the opportunity to produce something remarkable.
We printed the supplied design on a matt 350gsm offset stock in colour on both sides, Then to add emphasis to the Underlena logo we applied a UV gloss varnish. This technique draws attention and creates a delightful contrast between the gloss logo and the matt card background.
At Colourcraft, we take great pride in delivering projects that reflect the commitment and quality our clients' pour into their own brands, and we hope that the work we produce leaves a lasting impression.
Crafted with Precision: Floating Rock's Premium Business Cards
At Colourcraft, we take pride in delivering premium service and exceptional quality in every project we undertake. One of our recent endeavours was working with Floating Rock Studio, a boutique animation studio based in Wellington, Aotearoa, known for its high-quality animated cinematic experiences and slick visual effects.
For their business cards, we were supplied with a design that reflects the studio's creativity and professionalism and were asked to print a set of business cards that would leave a lasting impression.
Once the cards were printed to enhance durability, we applied a scuff-resistant matt lamination on both sides of the cards, providing a soft touch finish and ensuring they would stand up well over time. On one side, we incorporated the Floating Rock logo using a blind spot UV gloss varnish. This technique created a glossy effect that contracts with the matt laminated background.
On the reverse side of the business cards, we applied a hot stamp foiling with blue metallic foil to embellish the founder's name and the floating rock icon. The reflective metallic blue brought a touch of class, adding depth to the design and which contracted against the smooth matt laminated surface of the card.
By combining these premium finishes and attention to detail, we crafted business cards that truly represented the professionalism and quality of Floating Rock Studio.
Uniting Weeds & Knitting: Printing A Remarkable Book
At Colourcraft, we take pride in delivering premium service and quality for all our printing projects. A recent endeavour that showcases our expertise is the creation of ‘Invasive Hats and How To Knit Them,’ a perfect bound book that combines knitting patterns with insights into the world of weeds.
Our client, Pat from Hyve Books, approached us with the vision for this unique book. With in 56 pages ‘Invasive Hats and How To Knit Them’ is a delightful exploration of eight knitting patterns inspired by weeds. The book aims to raise awareness about the detrimental impact of weeds on our native ecosystems while offering beautiful alternatives in the form of charming hats.
The book was printed in colour on 135gsm Eco-100 paper, a fully recycled Chlorine Free option that aligns with the author’s commitment to sustainability. The cover received a matte lamination, resulting in a scuff-resistant finish with a soft-touch feel and improved long-term durability. The book was then perfect bound.
‘Invasive Hats and How To Knit Them’ was crafted by a talented team. Janet Velvin and Kate Jordan, the book's authors, bring their unique perspectives — a passion for gardening and knitting, and a deep knowledge of plant history and ecosystems — to create an engaging and informative read. The book's design was expertly handled by our long-time collaborator, Pat Velvin, a skilled graphic designer with whom we have had the pleasure of working for nearly a decade.
We take pride in having played a role in bringing ‘Invasive Hats and How To Knit Them’ to life as an example of what we can achieve in print. At Colourcraft, we strive to deliver the highest quality printing projects, showcasing our expertise, creativity and dedication to our craft.
Garage Project Business Cards: The Art of Craft
At Colourcraft, we take great pride in the ongoing work we produce for Garage Project the renowned brewery based in Wellington. Since 2017, we have been trusted with the task of bringing their business cards to life, and it has been an honour to contribute to their brand.
The front of each card features the owner's contact details, which we lay out in a common style. However, it is the reverse side of these cards which makes them unique.
Embracing Garage Project’s passion for art and their commitment to pushing boundaries, we print 20+ different kinds of beer art on each card's back. These iconic designs come from Garage Project's collaboration’s with some of Aotearoa's most talented artists.
To ensure the longevity and tactile appeal of the cards, we apply a durable scuff-resistant matt lamination to both sides. Which enhances the overall durability of the cards while providing a soft touch finish that leaves a lasting impression.
At Colourcraft, we understand that business cards serve as an introduction to a company's identity and values. By delivering exceptional print quality, with attention to detail, we strive to showcase Garage Project's dedication to their craft.

At Colourcraft, we take great pride in our print quality, especially when producing work for organisations like Te Taura Whiri i te Reo Māori. This guidebook is poised to make a significant impact in promoting the use of Te Reo Māori within the workplace, empowering individuals to embrace New Zealand's rich cultural heritage. We are honoured to have played a small yet meaningful role in equipping individuals with the necessary tools to foster a deeper connection with Te Reo Māori.
At Colourcraft, we take immense pride in providing premium printing services with the attention to detail our clients deserve. In 2021 (and again in 2022), working closely with Te Taura Whiri i te Reo Māori, the Maori Language Commission Te Wiki o te Reo Māori , we printed their Statement of Performance Expectations report.
This vital document sets out the goals and expectations of Te Taura Whiri i te Reo Māori. As an organisation dedicated to promoting te reo as a vibrant and evolving language, the commission entrusted us with the task of printing a visually stunning and durable printed copy of this significant report.
To create an engaging cover, we printed on a 300gsm Advance Laser stock and to enhance both the finish and durability, we applied a matt lamination to the cover creating a scuff-resistant soft-touch finish. Then we applied a spot gloss UV varnish, which created a glossy effect on elements of the covers graphics, adding depth and contrast to its design.
Te Taura Whiri i te Reo Māori's Statement of Performance Expectations is a testament to our commitment to delivering exceptional printing solutions that truly showcase the importance and impact of our clients' work. At Colourcraft, we hold our craftsmanship and attention to detail in high regard, and it is an absolute honour to have played a small part in this project, supporting Te Taura Whiri i te Reo Māori in their mission to strengthen New Zealand's national identity through the promotion and use of te Reo Māori.
At Colourcraft, we're passionate about collaborating with exceptional brands and the work we produce for Good George Brewing was no exception. In 2022 over several orders, we printed close to 10,000 keg collars for this iconic Hamilton-based brewery.
Keg collars play a crucial role in identifying and branding beer kegs. These die-cut ‘collars’ are securely attached to the neck of each keg, ensuring that the specific beer inside can be easily recognised during its journey from Good George Brewing Co to bars and establishments throughout the country.
We print keg collars on Formakote Natura 300gsm, a locally-made packaging board sourced from sustainable, well-managed forests in Whakatāne, New Zealand. This board boasts excellent durability, especially when subjected to the rigorous conditions of chillers.
At Colourcraft, we take pride in delivering exceptional printing services, and the A4 Workbook Notebooks we printed for Succeed Legal showcases our commitment to quality and attention to detail.
Succeed Legal, a fresh and modern Wellington-based law firm, entrusted us with the task of printing their notebooks which were designed to support note-taking during client meetings.
We used a 350gsm Silk Matt stock for the covers, then to enhance their durability and provide a pleasing soft-touch finish, we applied a matt lamination to both sides of the covers.
The pages of the notebooks were printed on high-quality 100gsm Advance Laser paper. With its exceptional whiteness, brightness, and uniformity, this paper offers a smooth writing experience. The pages featured ruled lines and space at the top for the date and subject, printed in crisp black throughout.
To complete the professional look, we wiro bound the notebooks on the left edge with white wire. This binding method not only adds functionality but also lends a polished appearance, allowing the pages to lie flat or fold fully back when the notebook is opened.
When Wilderlab NZ Ltd, the award-winning eDNA testing laboratory based in Wellington, needed 500 custom lined notebooks bearing their brand, they turned to us after being let down by another local printer.
These notebooks, measuring 135 x 210mm, are a compact, portable companion. The cover, printed in black on 225gsm Kraftpak Kraft, has a natural and rustic charm that echoes Wilderlab's environmental commitment. Inside, the pages showcase precise black lines on Mohawk Superfine Eggshell Ultra White 118gsm paper, ensuring a premium and enjoyable writing experience.
With a sturdy saddle-stapled binding style, these custom lined notebooks guarantee durability and longevity, making them ideal for capturing thoughts, ideas, and even scientific discoveries.
At Colourcraft, we take great pride in our attention to detail and dedication to delivering quality printing solutions. With over three decades of experience serving the Wellington community, we remain committed to providing exceptional service and delivering print that exceeds expectations.
At Colourcraft, we take great pride in delivering premium printing services. In collaboration with the renowned graphic design studio Ocean Design , we have printed a comprehensive colour reference guide for Awanui Labs. This A3-sized document serves as a benchmark for Awanui's brand, stakeholders and suppliers throughout the country.
The guide provides essential information and resources related to Awanui colour usage and establishes target, acceptable, and unacceptable colour standards. Additionally, the guide includes perforated tear-out colour swatches for convenient reference.
The front and back covers were printed in colour on 350gsm Silk Matt paper. A protective matt lamination was applied to the covers, ensuring durability and longevity. The pages were printed on 256gsm Silk Matt paper, incorporated die-cut elements to create a colour-isolating window for precise colour comparison and featured transparent pages printed on synthetic transparent stock to demonstrate target, acceptable, and unacceptable colour standards.
The result is a meticulously crafted reference guide that reflects the professionalism and dedication of Awanui.
Awanui, with its extensive network and commitment to providing laboratory testing and pathology services to thousands of New Zealanders daily, entrusted us with this project. We are proud to have contributed to their branding transition and to have produced a high-quality reference guide that will serve as a valuable resource within their organisation and beyond.
Workhub Services approached us with a special project, seeking a distinguished Certificate of Graduation to commemorate the completion of their Whakamana Programme.
The certificate, measuring 297 x 210mm, was printed in full colour on high-quality 300gsm Munken Pure Cream stock. To add an elegant touch, we applied a gold foil stamp at the base, providing a subtle, yet impactful detail of quality.
The Whakamana Programme empowers students with confidence, clarity, and purpose through four weeks of training. Upon completion, each graduate receives a Certificate in Workplace Preparation and Intercultural Studies, opening doors to future opportunities.
At Colourcraft, we take great pride in producing premium work. The Certificate of Graduation for Workhub Services stands as an example of the quality we can achieve in print.
At Colourcraft, we have had the pleasure of collaborating with numerous talented designers and creative businesses. One such project that stands out is Issue 1 of the Emma Brown Design Journal, a printed journal that embodies the essence of elegant architectural and interior design.
The graphic design for the journal was expertly crafted by the Jemma Cheer Design Company Printed on a 150gsm Advanced Laser paper, the journal measured 192 x 297mm, providing ample space for Emma Brown Design to showcase its portfolio.
The journal's cover, undersized at A5, was gold foiled on black stock, by Windmill Press This attention to detail set the tone for what lay inside the journal.
Within its 40 pages, the Design Journal took readers on a journey through the studio's notable projects and design philosophies. Four transparent pages featuring text overlays were printed onto translucent paper, beautifully overlaying the stunning photography of Emma Brown's interior design work.
The journal also included an undersized insert, printed on a charming 135gsm pink stock. This insert served as a gateway to discover more about Emma Brown Design, providing additional information about their studio, team, and the values that drive their creative process.
In this project, we took pride in collaborating with the Jemma Cheer Design studio and Windmill Press to bring Emma Brown Design's vision to life. The Emma Brown Design Journal stands as a testament to our dedication to delivering quality printing services that elevate and showcase the outstanding work of our clients.
Since 2019, we've been trusted with producing bold and beautiful business cards for Wellington's beloved coffee icon, Emporio Coffee Our team prints each card on a premium 350gsm Pure White Knight stock and adds a touch of class by applying Emporio's branding with a hot stamp gold foil.
The result? Business cards that reflect the quality and passion Emporio puts into its coffee and we're proud to play a small part in helping Emporio Coffee create a lasting impression.
Droppah, the Wellington creators of easy online rostering software, wanted to showcase their brand and came to us to help get the word out.
Droppah's marketing team designed a carton in their distinctive branding, featuring the catchy slogan "Sucky Straws - Not Sucky Rosters".
Our team developed a custom carton structure to hold the Sucky Straws product and cut a prototype carton to test the form and function of the carton structure. Then printed 300 units on a premium 260gsm Cresendo single sided carton board before die cutting to shape.
The result unique and effective promotional tool that perfectly captured Droppah's brand and message.
Emporio Coffee has been a respected brand in the New Zealand coffee industry for more than two decades and we’re proud to call them clients (and neighbours).
Knowing only a clean machine can make a great espresso, it was only a matter of time before Emporio launched their own espresso cleaning product onto the market.
They came to us to lend a hand with the graphic design and print. Emporio had a clear vision for what they wanted, which made the layout of the graphics an easy task. After prototyping and refining the design, we printed a batch of matt permanent self-adhesive labels which featured a convenient peel tab for easy application.
We love working with clients who have a passion for making an impact, and the 𝗕𝘂𝘆 𝗡𝗲𝘄 𝗭𝗲𝗮𝗹𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗠𝗮𝗱𝗲 Campaign is no exception. When they approached us in 2022 with a unique problem, we were happy to take on the challenge.
Their goal was simple: to make a lasting impression on new businesses joining the campaign. Instead of just sending out a certificate (which we also print) in an envelope, they wanted something special, something that would showcase the certificate and other New Zealand-made goodies in a durable and attractive way.
We got to work and designed a custom carton that could withstand the rigours of the courier network. Which used a sturdy 1.5mm thick white e-flute board and included an insert to hold the certificate frame securely in place. We also created a cavity below the frame to hold other promotional items, making the carton a perfect showcase for all things New Zealand-made.
Buy NewZealand
Then we designed a certificate frame that was made entirely from unprinted card, precisely sized to hold the certificate without any glue. The frame was cut from premium 350gsm white carton board, and we included a hole on the back for easy hanging on the wall. To add an extra touch of elegance, we created a silver foiled self-adhesive label to brand the carton and seal it closed during transit.
The Buy New Zealand Made Campaign was thrilled with the concept, and we produced the first 200 units in October 2022. We're proud to have been a part of this project and to have helped the campaign make a lasting impact on businesses joining the campaign.
Colourcraft has a long-standing relationship with the guys behind SecureAZ, so when they approached us to print their business cards, we knew we had to create something remarkable.
To achieve this, we printed 500 business cards on a premium 350gsm satin matt board and to further enhance their durability, we laminated both sides of the cards with a scuff-resistant, durable matt lamination, ensuring that they would stand up well over time. Then to make these business cards truly stand out and catch the eye, we applied a screen printed spot UV varnish on the type 'Cyber Security Awareness'.
In the final days of 2022, Laurel Hill Foods approached us to produce 300 gift pack cartons for their delicious Wicked Wanda hot BBQ sauce range from Hawkes Bay.
We took on the challenge and developed a carton structure that not only showcases the product but also included a locking lid and integrated handle. The windows cut into the carton allow the branding and labelling of the product to always be on display.
To ensure the quality of the final product, we first created a blank mockup to test the form and function of the carton. We then positioned the supplied Wicked Wanda branding onto the carton’s dieline structure and printed the cartons onto a durable 350gsm Satin board. Then die-cut and glued the carton.
In 2023, the Te Wiki o te Reo Māori the Māori Language Commission asked us to print 2000 A6 booklets to help people confidently speak Te Reo Māori at the beach, river, or BBQ.
These pocket-sized booklets we’re printed on premium 128gsm satin stock with a thicker 256gsm cover, ensuring that they can withstand any outdoor activity. With 'I Te Kai Rorerore (At a BBQ)' on one side and 'Te Taha O Te Wai (At the beach or River)' on the other, these booklets are the perfect companion for any summer gathering.
In January 2023, Christchurch’s renowned furniture maker, Heart + Sap, approached us to print premium business cards we knew we had to deliver something special. Something worthy of being on display with Heart and Sap’s bespoke hand-crafted furniture.
We printed 1000 business cards on a premium 350gsm satin matt board, and to further enhance their durability, we laminated both sides of the cards with a scuff-resistant, durable matt lamination, ensuring that they would stand up well over time.
Then to make these business cards truly stand out, we applied Heart and Sap's logo using a screen printed spot UV varnish.
We’re fortunate to have Wellington’s Goodnature as a client and in January 2023 they came to us with a problem. They had a looming export order of traps that needed to be shipped and while they had the product and cartons ready to go, they were short of carton wraps used to seal and brand the carton. Goodnature’s normal packaging supplier could not produce the order in less than 5 weeks, so could we do any better?
Within a day or so we had a prototype printed proof output and then produced 550 carton wraps over the next couple of days allowing Goodnature to meet the export deadline.
Goodnature must have been happy with the results as they placed a nearly identical order with us a week later.
When the soon-to-be-launched Kisa came to us in early 2022 to print their menu stock, we knew we had to deliver something premium. A fully recycled 250gsm paper was offset-printed in Pantone 458. Then the stock was deeply debossed to lower its surface, giving it a tactile feel.
In a single production run, we printed enough stock for 20,000 menus, which we hold in inventory. To keep the menus up-to-date with Kisa's current Middle Eastern offerings, we overprint the reverse of the menu stock every week.
This approach provides Kisa with the flexibility to update their menus frequently while still enjoying the cost benefits of producing a large quantity of premium stock in a single order.
In February 2023, Te Wiki o te Reo Māori asked us to print 2000 folding flyers to help people confidently order their Kawhe (coffee) in Te Reo Māori.
These pocket sized flyers were printed on a premium 150gsm satin and folded up to be smaller than a business card. Perfect for carrying in pockets or wallets.
The flyers were distributed at the Te Matatini Kapa Haka Festival 2023.
The Manatū Taonga Ministry for Culture and Heritage entrusted us to print 500 sets of playing cards and cartons for the prestigious Te Matatini Kapa Haka Festival 2023.
We had standing cutting dies to achieve the precision round-cornered shape for the cards and cartons structure. The Ministry supplied us with the graphics, and we got to work. Digitally printing 500 sets of 36 playing cards and cartons on a durable Silk Matt board. Each card was die-cut to the final shape and carefully packed into sets.
In late 2022 the GrowProbe asked for our help in producing packaging for their GrowProbe product which takes the guessing out of watering indoor plants.
Using 3D-printed prototypes of the product and a packaging mockup created by the creator of GrowProbe, Shayna, we developed a secure and interlocking packaging structure that showcases the GrowProbe product while holding it securely.
We then supplied this structural die-line to Shayna for her graphic designer to lay out the graphics and then finally printed 3000 units on an environmentally-friendly Kraft board before die-cutting to the final shape.
In early 2023 our team was asked by the beloved Aurora Argentinian Bakery Bakery to produce some signage panels to fit a Sandwich Board hardware they supplied.
The graphics were printed on vinyl and then protected with a a layer of matt laminate, ensuring they will last for years to come. To give the sign a polished, professional look, we added the same black vinyl on the inside signage panel as this can be seen when the A frame is open.
Last year Fix and Fogg (our talented neighbours) asked us to cut them a vinyl decal to brand a Kenwood mixer. This was cut from durable Oracal 751 and came out great.
In February 2023, Wellington's popular tavern, Sprig + Fern asked us to print 5000 coasters. As they have two bars we printed Sprig+Fern Tawa's logo on one side of the coaster and Sprig+Fern Thornton's logo on the other, making them versatile enough to be used in both locations.
To make the coasters durable, we printed on a 350gsm board that can withstand frequent use and then die-cut the coasters to a 100mm diameter circle.
