The Waterfront Pop-up Village is a unique retail precinct in Wellington, NZ featuring shipping containers turned into the cutest little boutiques you’ve ever seen, filled with local art, design and gifts.
Biggest sad. We've made the tough call to cancel this summer's village. Despite having a full complement of sparkling new stallholders in the wings, we feel we just can't risk it, with the uncertainties facing the city right now.
Another blow for the small businesses we support. It's just so devastating. Tomorrow would have been our pack-in day :-(
Sorry folks, hope to see you next year.

SAD FACE ☹️
Due to COVID-induced uncertainties and the World of WearableArt (WOW) postponement, we have sadly had to cancel our three-week spring season.
We're all go planning our gorgeous summer lineup though, it's shaping up to be a whopper. See ya soon!
A HUGE round of applause to Yonna from Little House NZ for winning our competition! We had a massive number of marvelous entries.
Little House NZ is an online store selling eco-friendly children's playthings, kits, paints, and other products. They even sell beeswax products from their own beehives!
Yonna sent through an outstanding application and has won a free shop for our spring season coming up from the 28th September til the 17th of October.
The combination of beautiful, thoughtful products mixed with a gorgeous aesthetic made this brand-new business an easy choice to take the top prize.
We are so delighted to have Little House NZ on board.
Let's support this incredible Wellington brand and get behind all the other small businesses there too!
Yes, this is happening...

I don’t know why we’re looking so delighted, but this is a great article thanks The Dominion Post
During the week it's just a car park, but every weekend for the people of Wellington it became something more. https://www.stuff.co.nz/dominion-post/culture/120204312/an-ode-to-wellington-underground-market-closed-after-10-years?cid=app-iPhone

With only a few weeks to go for the Underground Market, now's the time to come down and touch base with your favourite local artists/creators and grab some unique bargains as well as our details to keep in touch with us after the the doors close for the last time at Frank Kitts Park. The majority of us will continue to vend online or through other avenues and...we'd love to have you join us on our journeys!!
There have been some questions about why the market is still trading if the venue is earthquake-prone. Please see the attached response from Wellington City Council which explains that there are over 500 earthquake-prone buildings currently in Wellington CBD that are still being used.
Our venue will not be closed after we vacate after the 14th March, it will still be accessible by the public as a carpark. We are leaving in order to reduce risk to large numbers in case of an earthquake.
If you have any further questions, please contact Wellington City Council.
See you Saturday. Only four more to go!
As you will know, we are looking hard at options for a new home for our market. As part of this, we are putting together a submission to the Wellington City Council to hold them to their word to support us in our quest.
We need your help! We want to include quotes from real shoppers/visitors saying what the market means to you. A story you may want to share, or just a few words which may help our cause. Either comment below or DM us.
Thanks in advance!
