Stage Furniture: couches vs. chairs

We are often asked if we hire couches for stage panel Q&A sessions, our answer is no and these are the reasons why:

1. Individual chairs give more flexibility in arrangement on stage especially if you are working around lecturns.

2. After COVID people didnt want to sit together on couches, close proximity was frowned on and even now, we find a single chair allows the comfort of personal space.

3. Its much easier, quicker and practicle to remove and add chairs seamlessly during conferences as panels change in number.

All our chairs are NZ made from sustainable wood and have interchangeable swabs for the 3 colour wood frames we carry. This gives us massive options with over 9 colour swab options. And we are always adding new ones!

Today the GP24 Conference opened. Stepping back 50 years Conference Innovators invited us to help theme this conference with a distinctive 70s flavour for The Royal New Zealand College of General Practitioners (RNZCGP)

This great wallpaper is a key feature through the design across multiple days.

Day one.......

Another step to banning balloons.

As you may know we have steered clear of balloons for over 15 years and wont entertain balloon arches or photowalls.

Whilst you may find bio-degradeable balloons in stores, its a lie. The latex part of the ballon is bio-degradeable BUT the chemicals used to keep the latex stable are not. The balloon wont degrade in the ocean.

Too many find there way into the ocean and kill turtles, birds & marine life.

Last job for a few weeks...... Lizz Santos is off to have her hip replaced tomorrow and so we have taken the next short while off while she recovers.

August is prooving hectic with lots of jobs booked so the break will be short lived!

How to best describe the creative flair Lizz Santos brings to a job........

Today we arrive at the venue to a stage set-up below.....working with the techs Lizz quickly orientates the stage to the diagonal not only to open the space up to better interaction with the speaker for the event tonight, but it also gives more space on the stage.

We also asked for lights to illuminate the florals and give the space depth.

We look at space differently.

This is the essence of what events are to us - the whole picture, giving our clients the optimum experience on every level and seeing beyond just what we bring to the picture.

Sometimes we get to play with flowers....blooms waiting to be turned into centrepieces tomorrow in the city office space. ♡
