Day 3 of 4 weeks into Te Rangatahi o Te Awakairangi and we had the awesome crew from OCEAN HUNTER Wellington ( Hugh and Dan ) come in and start our Basic Snorkel Training with the boys. From this we hope to make the Rangatahi confident in the water and able to gather their whanau/Kaumātua some kaimoana SAFELY 🌊 Huge shout out to the team for coming through with equipment and the skills to help achieve this goal🌊

Introducing 1 of the newest members to the Ruku Crew ( Cray Jones Jr )😂 We shot off South ( Tarakena ) and🙏 We managed to get kai for his whanau and some kinas and paua for 1 of my bros whos Mātua has passed🌊🙏 Another meke day on the water trying all the new gears from OCEAN HUNTER Spearfishing & Freediving Specialists from head to toe they have us covered. The 🔥Surf Ears performed well again ( i might change the size in them again for a more comfy fit ) Finally got to give the Ruku Blades New Zealand a good test today nice easy maneuverable blades that give good kick against the current when it picked up. And the Moray waist bag was very handy could unload the hands ensuring i didnt move off the spot at the time. Intention was set, and we got it done safely 🙏🌊 And shot to the brother Kris Adams always meke as linking up and sharing space with you in the water bro💪 Mauri Tu Mauri Ora
So at the start of the year i blew my left eardrum and around September i blew my right eardrum, which left me out of the water for months on end. Once i was able to get back in. I would use some Industrial ear plugs ( the foam 1s ) to keep the water out of my ears, as my eustachian tubes would swell up and block and i would get vertigo on the surface. I would tape my head like Ali Williams to keep them in😂🤦♂️..... That was untill today💯🌊 I went into OCEAN HUNTER Spearfishing & Freediving Specialists to get the wife some 5mm Dive socks and came out with new fins, gloves, a torch, the socks ( i later ordered a dive watch 😂😂 ) and these little beautiful ear plugs... Surf Ears. And WOW💯 not only did it keep the water out. They stayed in, i was able to hands free equalise again which was a dream and because they come in 3 sizes i was able to find the size that fits 1st pop. I would recommend to those that need or want to keep the water out of the ears💯💯🌊 🌊REMEMBER THE NAME🌊 SURF EARS🌊

That time we entered a spear fishing comp and fell in love with it🙏🌊 it was the 1st time we had really had a try at spearfishing let alone entering a competition. with Brothaz of Tangaroa and the whanau we placed 4th and 9th of 30 teams. Which we all were stoked as about. Im going through the phone with itching feet and dry lungs😂😂 Bring on Saturdays mish 🌊🌊
