Unichem Karori mall will be closed on Friday, Sunday and Monday.

We are open 9-2pm on Saturday we won't be doing the flu shot early for anyone that day.

Unichem Marsden will be closed from Friday and back open on the 2nd of April.

Both stores will start providing flu vaccines from the 2nd of April.
Best way to get a booking slot at either store is on bookmyvaccine online.

Walk ins are possible but expect to wait up to 30minutes before you can be seen if you don't have a booking as we try and to put you in between appointments. We also don't start vaccinations till 9.45am at the mall and 10am at marsden so please don't wait outside the store first thing in the morning.

We only vaccinate from 12yrs old and above only.

Unichem Marsden will be closed at 5:30pm today and reopen on the 8th Jan Monday at 9am. This has been communicated instore and on health point since 1st Oct.
Please note any uncollected prescription from marsden the mall will not be able to go and collect on your behalf. Please organize a new prescription and get it sent to the mall.

We are operating on skeleton staffing over the next 3 weeks so staff can have time off with their family and friends. There may be an extra wait time for our usual services as a result please plan accordingly.

There is still a lot of water which is being dried out around the inside of the pharmacy with large industrial fans, this will be going all day tomorrow so might be noisy instore.

We will not be able to do covid boosters/vaccinations tomorrow (13th Dec, Wednesday), there is water damage to our consultation room.

Unichem Marsden can vaccinate if it is urgent. Otherwise come see us on Thursday. Keep in mind their is only one pharmacist over there so let's not overwhelm them if it's not urgent.

We should be back to fully operational on Thursday 14th December.

Due to flash flooding at the mall the pharmacy is flooded and closed.

Unichem Marsden Village has access to prescription emailed by the doctor for urgent prescription.

Changes in our opening hours.

We will be closing at 2pm on Saturdays at Unichem Karori Mall due to the ongoing shortages of pharmacist in our network of stores from tomorrow and the month of March. Unichem Marsden will remain closed on Saturdays ongoing.

We will be reviewing if we can open back up to 4pm in April in time for the bivalent boosters + flu shots provided we get more staff.

This is to ensure my team do not burn out as many are working 6 day weeks every 2nd week.

Hello Karori!

Attached are our Christmas & New Year hours for both Unichem's in Karori.

Unichem Karori Mall will have slightly reduced hours and are closed on all public holidays and observed days. Please take note that on new years eve (31st Dec) we are closing at 2pm.

Unichem Marsden Village will be closed from the 25th Dec-3rd January. Reopen on the 4th January with slightly reduced hours also.
They are closed on all Saturdays starting from the 31st December 22 till the 11th Feb 2023 due to pharmacist shortages.

We have done over 3000 Covid vaccinations/boosters for adults and kids since Feb 2022.

Over 4000 influenza vaccinations.

Over 2000 free deliveries for Covid positive patients in our community for their prescription items when isolating at home.

Prescribed, dispensed and delivered over 400 COVID antivirals in the last 6 months for Covid positive patients.

Issued out over 2000 Covid pass & documentations for local and international use to our community.

Who is Eligible?

✅ Anyone over 50y

✅ Healthcare, Aged Care & Disability workers (aged 30 +)

✅ Severely immune Compromised people who have already received THREE primary doses and ONE Booster

✅ People over 16 with certain medical conditions

✅Residents of care facilities

Please Note: Second booster must be at least SIX months after completion of first booster. Under no circumstance can we do it even a day earlier as the online system we use to input your data will block us from doing so.

The criteria above is set by the Ministry of Health not the pharmacy, if you do not meet the criteria above the only way to get a 2nd booster is to get it prescribed by a doctor. As it is an "off label" use it will be at the discretion of your doctor to determine if it is suitable for you.

Flu shots are free for people that fit into 1 or more of the criteria below as per MOH;

• People aged under 65 years with any of the medical conditions

Otherwise the cost is $35. Also all flu shot customers will get 15% off storewide* (T&Cs apply) after your vaccination. Unfortunately for now we only can do the flu shot for aged 13 years and older.

Also a reminder both stores provide the supervised rapid antigen testing for international travel only - no bookings needed- just allow for it to take 15-20 minutes and bring your passport also- cost of these are $55 per person.

Hello Karori!

Update regarding RATs

It is unlikely we will have any Rapid antigen test kits to sell this week.
Should we get stock this week we will update again, we anticipate stock to arrive next week now.

We really need the community to help raise awareness that both pharmacies in Karori, do not do rat testing for symptomatic or close contacts, at the Pharmacy or provide free kits. Only testing centres and some medical centres provide the funded RATs. Please check health point daily as they update new sites for collection as they get up and running around Wellington we know more sites will be up and running and closer to us soon!

Unfortunately our store is, too small in floor space and only having one entrance in and out means there is no adequate way to ensure safety of our staff and customers waiting for a prescription to provide this service. Yesterday alone in the first hour we had 5 symptomatic individuals show up at our front counter for a funded test. This is putting our staff at risk, the other patients in store waiting for a prescription at risk, and other shoppers inside the mall at risk.
We need to ensure the health and safety of our staff so that prescriptions can keep flowing and health and safety of customers so they feel safe coming in store to collect their prescriptions or get their boosters.

We appreciate the support and kind words you all have given us over the last few weeks, we appreciate this for some are causing a lot of stress and anxiety so pick up the phone and give us a call, we will do our best to help.

Couple of things to help answer, common questions asked now that we are in phase 3!

Rapid antigen tests-Business/general public
Currently we do not have any for sale for business/general public. Unichem Marsden will be coordinating RATs for business please call them to leave your details so we can be in touch when we get stock.

At present the most likely option will be a pack of 20- our understanding is this pack of 20 can't be split to different households so will only be suitable for large families and/or business.

Please specify to the team if you are interested in packs of 5 or 20s are they are the likely options going forward for now. We are working hard to secure supplies for our local community.

Rapid antigen testing at the Pharmacy is NOT provided at either of the Unichem's in Karori. Please do not come into our pharmacy if symptomatic! Look up health point to find your nearest testing centre.

Covid-19 Boosters
We are providing that service 6 days a week, today (Friday) we are accepting walk ins right up to 5.15pm and tomorrow (Saturday) from 9:15am-3.15pm for walk ins and/or bookings. We will be providing kids vaccinations (5-11yrs) starting from next Tuesday onwards. This will be available 6 days a week also.

We have a good supply of KN95 masks at both stores including packs of 20 for business or larger house holds. We also have kids sized mask (surgical and re-usable cloth masks).

We will be here for you as usual, we understand for some this is an uneasy and unsettling time, give us a call or email us and we will do everything we can to help 🙂 .

Hello Karori!

We are now providing COVID-19 vaccinations at the Karori Mall Pharmacy.

This is to complement the already outstanding service provided by the medical centre but also increase the accessibility of the vaccination service in our awesome suburb- we will be open on Friday and Saturday for vaccinations!

It has been a journey to get us started with the DHB, but we are finally here. Due to ongoing IT issues with the DHB our book my vaccine schedule has been delayed from going live!

So for today and tomorrow we are resorting to good old pen and paper for bookings just for the next few days, we will provide further updates once we go live.

We will be providing the vaccine service on
Monday to Thursday: 11am-5pm
Friday: 9:30am till 5pm
Saturday: 9:15 till 3pm

Please note due to the size of our store, we will be operating mainly as a booking only vaccination clinic so we can maintain a sensible amount of people inside the pharmacy due to us being in the red alert level setting. Please call us on 4767564 to make a booking for today and tomorrow only.

Due to staffing levels, paediatric vaccine and first aid equipment for paediatrics not arriving yet we can only provide the primary and secondary doses to 12+ years, and boosters to 18+ years.

We do have every intention of providing the paediatric service, and will announce it once we do get started on that!

We will also be offering 50 bonus living reward points and 15% off storewide when you get boosted with us- this is a nationwide Unichem promotion at participating vaccination Unichem's.

Morning Karori!

This morning from 9am till noon(ish) and tomorrow we will be having some slight disruptions instore due to a very old ducted aircon unit being decommissioned (15 years old!) and a new more modern unit being installed! Unfortunately some of the work will have to be done while we are open (tradies and myself been here since 5.30am)!

We will be open for prescriptions as per normal but my retail staff will help grab any otc products you may need. We should be back to normal for usual retail trade from about 1pm both days. We will have staff at the door to help you for both prescription and retail. Vaccine passports will still be processed also for those still having issues :)

Hello Karori, as you all may have seen in the news pharmacy's can now help those that can not access their vaccine pass online to be printed in-store.

We are happy to say- Unichem Karori Mall will be able to provide this service from today.

We can print this for your FREE!
To request your vaccine pass, we need:

Your full name
Your date of birth
Your Address
NHI (if you know it)
a contact number.

You can either pop instore or email us the above information at [email protected] we would prefer to not get phone calls regarding this so we can keep our phone lines clear for prescription and/or health related queries :D

We will be able to provide this service from 9.30am-5pm Mon to Fri and all day Saturday.

This is a free service for everyone, you don't need to be a customer of ours, it is to help enable everyone easy access to their vaccine pass before the 3rd December.

All we kindly ask if that we do get busy with this service, you remain patience with the team, while we work through everyone's request.

Hello! Welcome to Level 2, we did it!

Just an update for hours for Level 2, plus goods we can donate to local business or community groups!
