Here in the Andes, the warmth of the people reflects the beauty of the land. The sacred plants and natural world invite us to connect deeply, both within ourselves and with the world around us.
We’re excited to welcome you to the Hacienda Paucartika, a newly renovated historical haven in the heart of the Sacred Valley. Filled with history and a sense of deep connection, surrounded by incredible mountains and home to a variety of animals. Whether you rent the space or collaborate with us to bring your vision to life, let this sacred land serve as a place of remembrance and renewal. Check out our new webpage at Paucartika.com and begin your journey, or visit ChispaWasi.com to learn more about retreat collaboration opportunities.
Honored to share a moment of connection and joy with Niko Chieso and Cacique Ayani from the Huni Kuin village of Ikamaru. 🪶 🤗

Louis with some of our Wachuma cacti, symbols of patience and strength, representing the sacred masculine energy of the Andes. It takes years for them to grow tall and strong, shaped by the harsh yet beautiful conditions of the mountains. A journey of endurance, a raw connection to the land and the spirit that shapes us.
Louis, Marleni’s husband, also works at the hacienda . He is deeply connected to the land, carrying the traditions and wisdom of the Andes. His hands, like hers, work in harmony with nature and the sacred plants that surround us.

High in the Andes, the ancient wakaray ceremony is still practiced today. It’s a tradition that began with the Incas, where the ears of alpacas and llamas are pierced and adorned with vibrant wool tassels, marking them as sacred and valuable members of the community. These animals play a vital role in Andean life, providing wool, meat, and labor.
During the ceremony, prayers are offered to Pachamama and the Apus, asking for protection, fertility, and blessings for the animals. This tradition has been passed down through generations, keeping the connection between the people, their land, and their way of life alive.
Meet Marleni, our incredible helper at Hacienda Paucartika, where we host retreats and rent to those looking to create their own. 🌻
From the native community of Huchuy Qosqo, Marleni ensures guests connect with her culture, the ancient ruins, and the revered apus. With her deep knowledge of Andean plants, she shares the natural medicine of the Andes, enriching our retreats and space with her wisdom and care.

To the indigenous people of the Brazilian Amazon, these two words hold much more meaning than a simple expression of happiness. They embody a way of life that values the beauty in simplicity, the strength found in community, and the deep connection with the natural world. “Só Alegria” is a reminder that joy is not just an emotion but a state of being, a choice to embrace life’s moments with gratitude and an open heart, no matter the circumstances.
