So our students had a small Quechua class to learn basic expressions as part of the cultural activities offered by the school
Our school also offers homestays with Cusquenian families to make your Spanish program more immersive, get to know the culture and practice the language, our host families are really wonderful!

A little bit of what our social activities looks like! 😃
Meet Stef! Today he tell us about his time in the school and Cusco! 🤗
1. Why do you want to learn to speak Spanish?
I would like to learn Spanish so that I can use it in my daily life. Also for business, because I have studied international business so I can make the most of it.
2. What are the most beautiful moments of your time in Cusco?
My trip to Machu Picchu,
The rainbow mountain,
and Humantay Lagoon. But most of all, I think the connection I have built with the teachers, staff and fellow students is the most beautiful thing. This is partly due to the social activities that the school organizes!: Coffee tasting, dinners at local restaurants, sports nights, language exchange, etc.
3. How was your stay with your host family?
I stayed with a wonderful family. Because I have been here for 6 weeks and have been lucky with my host mother, Milagros, her daughter Luana, ‘’Tio Juan’’ and dog Thor, I have been able to build a special bond. This way I was able to learn and practice a lot more Spanish. The food was also delicious, I can only recommend this because it forces you to implement Spanish in your daily life!
Cusco is a magical city for all the history and culture that exists, located in the southern part of the Andes mountain range is located at 3399 meters above sea level, sometimes this height can make your experience start with headache or tiredness, that is why it is recommended to take "mate de coca",
The coca leaf grows in Peru, Bolivia and Colombia mainly, scientifically known as Erythroxylum Coca, it contains 14 alkaloids, one of these is globulin which stimulates the oxygenation and consequently the respiratory and nervous system, improving the oxygenation of the brain and blood, so if you are planning to visit Cusco soon, keep in mind to drink a lot of Mate de Coca to have the best experience!
The main ceremonies in honor of Pachamama are carried out at the beginning of sowing and harvesting, but the main tribute is carried out throughout the month of August, especially on the first day of the month .
Pachamama, or Mother Earth, is the feminine goddess of the earth and fertility, a benign agricultural divinity conceived as the mother who nurtures, protects and sustains human beings. In the Inca tradition, she is the deity of communal agriculture, the foundation of all civilization and the Andean State. She is the most popular of the mythological beliefs of the Inca sphere that still survives in the Andes
