Joe Tonde For PMNW BOX NO # 14
This evening at the Gerehu round about, the Awain Tribes men and women of Wabag town pledged their full support and royalty to Joe Tonde by contributing K4,000 in cash and 20 cartons of coke to help him stand for the PMNW seat.
They said Awain tribe is the power base of politics in Wabag electorate when first Sir Tei Abal held the open seat which was later held by his son Sam Abal.
The late Malipu Balakau was based at Awain's Pawas village to win the Enga Regional seat. Joe Tonde also from late Balakau's Kombane tribe was blessed with words of encouragement and wisdom to win the Port Moresby North West Seat in the same manner in which Awain tribesmen blessed the late Balakau to win the Enga Regional seat.
The Awains said they decided to come and support Joe Tonde because no other Awain stood in this election and they saw that Joe Tonde was the winning horse in the race. They asked him to make sure he wins and make the Awains and other PNG supporters proud.
The leader Joe Tonde thanked them for the support and said the Awains are his people and he always stand along with them when they are in need and he expressed his gratitude for the reciprocal gifts in return when he was in need of resources and votes.
