The final day of the ๐๐๐ฆ๐ฉ๐ฎ๐ฌ ๐๐ญ๐ฎ๐๐๐ง๐ญ ๐๐จ๐ฎ๐ง๐๐ข๐ฅ ๐๐๐๐๐๐ซ๐ฌ๐ก๐ข๐ฉ ๐๐ซ๐๐ข๐ง๐ข๐ง๐ ๐๐๐๐ (๐๐๐๐๐'๐๐) was action-packed, testing the participants' knowledge and teamwork.
The day kicked off with a Quiz Bee testing the participants' knowledge of DMMMSU's history, situational problem-solving, and drawing on concepts from prior sessions. Mr. John Marc C. Lachica and Mr. Russel Jay C. Ocampo led the quiz, which included multiple-choice, identification, and situational questions.
The highlight of the day was the Amazing Race, where ten meticulously designed stations pushed students to their physical and mental limits. This exciting activity showcased teamwork and the importance of strategic thinking to overcome obstacles. Each station demanded quick thinking, cooperation, and endurance, making it a fitting finale for the practical components of the training.
The closing ceremony at Eriguel Hall celebrated the participants' hard work and dedication. Prof. Nestor Ulpindo, CSBO Adviser, delivered an inspiring message that acknowledged the growth and achievements of the future leaders. Award presentations followed. Nalinteg won the Tribu Yell competition, followed by Nagaget, Nasingpet, Naragsak, and Nasayaat. Nasayaat triumphed in the Tribu Talent Show, with Naanus, Managtulong, Naragsak, and Nalaing following. Nalinteg also secured first place for Project Proposals, with Naanus, Natibker, Managtulong, and Nalaing trailing.

Day two kicked off with "Hataw Galaw," a morning zumba session that energized the participants, led by facilitators and tribu guides. The rest of the day was packed with valuable sessions designed to empower aspiring student leaders, beginning with "The Role of Emotional Intelligence in Motivational Leadership" by Ms. Angelita S. Domondon, a Guidance Counselor at DMMMSU-SLUC. Ms. Domondon emphasized the critical role that emotional intelligence plays in effective leadership, explaining that understanding and managing one's own emotions, as well as those of others, can significantly enhance leadership effectiveness. She engaged the participants in interactive activities that demonstrated the impact of emotional intelligence on team dynamics and conflict resolution. Ms. Domondon closing message, "If others can, why can't I?" left a lasting impression on the participants.
Following Ms. Domondonโs insightful session, Dr. Pedro A. Arongat, returning as a guest speaker for the second time, presented "Strategies and Tactics: Crafting and Achieving Visionary Plans." Dr. Arongat, provided a thorough guide on developing visionary plans that are ambitious yet achievable plans. He discussed various strategic planning models and tools, offering practical advice on setting clear goals, creating actionable plans, and measuring progress. His interactive approach included real-world examples, allowing participants to apply the concepts discussed in real-time scenarios. Dr. Arongatโs session was instrumental in preparing students for the afternoonโs main activity: the conceptualization and presentation of project proposals.
The afternoon involved group work where participants brainstormed and developed innovative project ideas. Each group created proposals that addressed current issues or introduced new initiatives for the university. Project proposals like "Padanum: Hydrate to Elevate" and "Green Minds: Planting Trees for Student Well-being" were presented to a panel of judges, including Ms. Myla Servito (OIC-Chairperson, Campus Student Body Organization), Mr. John Frederick Javier (Ethical Standards Officer, University Student Council), and Mr. Nathanael Alexis Milanes (College Instructor, College of Education). The feedback from the judges provided valuable insights for refining their proposals and developing their presentation skills further. These project proposals have the potential to be adopted as future initiatives by the CSBO.
The day concluded with a meaningful Spiritual Night guided by Mr. Alexander Lopez. His session, titled "Leading with Heart: The Role of Compassion and Morality in Effective Leadership," emphasized the importance of " compassionate leadership" that fosters a positive work environment where team members feel valued, respected, and motivated. The highlight of the evening was a moving candle lighting ceremony at Marcos Sports Center. Each participant lit a candle, symbolizing their commitment to leading with integrity and compassion. Ms. Anna Marie J. Nalica, the District II Youth Leader of La Union, led a heartfelt prayer with a touch of lightness that resonated with the students. Participants then made wishes before blowing out their candles, adding a personal touch to the ceremony. This ritual reinforced the day's theme of compassionate and moral leadership.

The event commenced on June 10th afternoon at Eriguel Hall, with a warm welcome from Myla S. Servito, OIC-Chairperson of the Campus Student Body Organization (CSBO). Her remarks set a positive tone for the training, highlighting its significance for the student leaders present. Ms. Anna Marie J. Nalica, OIC-Vice Chairperson of CSBO, then provided an overview of CSCLT'24 and established the house rules for a smooth and productive experience.
A significant highlight of the opening ceremony was a motivational message from Dr. Enrico G. Dacanay, College Dean of Computer Science, who represented Dr. Joanne C. Rivera, Chancellor of DMMMSU-SLUC. Dr. Dacanay emphasized the importance of resilience and vision in student leadership.
The first session, titled "Embracing Student Leadership: Overcoming Challenges and Building Resilience," was delivered by Mr. Michael B. Cepillio, who brought his extensive experience in leadership development to the forefront. Mr. Cepillio passionately addressed the numerous challenges faced by student leaders. He underscored the importance of resilience and perseverance in overcoming these challenges. His presentation not only inspired the participants but also provided practical strategies for maintaining motivation in leadership roles. Mr. Cepillio emphasized the development of essential soft skills crucial for effective leadership and highlighted the opportunities for networking and self-discovery that leadership roles provide. Throughout the session, Mr. Cepillio drew from personal anecdotes and experiences as a former student leader, enriching the discussion with practical insights and relatable examples. His engaging delivery and insightful perspectives set a strong foundation for participants to embrace their leadership journey with confidence and determination. This was followed by Dr. Jefferson D. Isidro's talk, "Leading from Within: The Significance of Self-Awareness and Accountability in Leadership," As a seasoned educator, Dr. Isidro explored the introspective aspects of effective leadership. He highlighted the critical role of self-awareness in understanding one's strengths, weaknesses, and values as a leader, emphasizing how personal accountability promotes trust and integrity within an organization. Dr. Isidro's insightful presentation challenged participants to reflect on their leadership styles and commit to continuous personal growth to enhance their effectiveness as student leaders.
The night shifted to a high-energy atmosphere with a Socialization Night, sparking vibrant displays of talent and camaraderie among student leaders. The star of the show? The Tribu Yell and Talent Competition. Each tribu brought their A-game, showcasing creativity and enthusiasm. Judges Mr. John Patrick Paneda, Mr. Ray Karlo Carrera, and Mr. Rei Christian Tibacay oversaw a range of performances - from tribu yells to captivating talents that wowed the crowd. Between the cheers, former CSBO officers shared inspiring stories from their leadership journeys. These powerful messages resonated deeply, reminding everyone of the importance of resilience, vision, and empathy in leading effectively. The exchange of stories created a sense of unity and shared purpose, culminating in a heartwarming solidarity dance that cemented the friendships formed throughout the evening.

The University Student Council (USC) is now on the works of amending Chapter 5 (Student Code of Discipline) of the revised Student Handbook, particularly Article 5.2 (Cross-dressing) and 5.3 (Student hairstyles).
The Article 5.2 forbids cross-dressing of both sexes. Meanwhile, Article 5.3 demands students' hairstyles to be clean, combed, and nearly trimmed or fixed; unconventional hair colors for males and females are also not permitted. Male students are not allowed to sport long hair. Hair should not touch the collar or neckline of the uniform. The use of cosmetics, hairpins, pony tails, headbands, etc. by males is likewise disallowed.
The initiative is said to further inclusivity and gender sensitivity in the campus. With this effort, the Council deployed a university-wide consensus to acknowledge the pulse of student body. The survey is open until February 21, Wednesday, via Google Forms below:

A Degree in Love: Campus Valentine's Day Celebration
Various student organizations of DMMMSU-SLUC celebrated Valentine's Day through the setting up of booths that promote inclusivity, inspiration, and gratitude for all students, last February 14.
The "FREE HUG" kiosk was the highlight of the day with students taking advantage of the opportunity to spread love and affection by sharing hugs with friends or reaching out to strangers with open arms. This act represents the global language of love and compassion.
As the day ended, the hallways of DMMMSU-SLUC were filled with laughter and enjoyment, leaving behind memories that would be treasured for years to come.
