Alaminos City Library

Every November, the National Library of the Philippines (NLP) along with all other public libraries in the country celebrates the Library and Information Services (LIS) Month, pursuant to Proclamation No. 837, series of 1991, which designates November as LIS Month.

This year marks the 34th LIS Month with its theme, 'LibVOCACY: Unity towards Inclusive and Empowered Libraries,' reflects a strong commitment to advocacy, inclusivity, and empowerment within the library community. It highlights libraries' essential role in fostering a united effort for equitable access to information and resources for all.

With this, the Alaminos City Library humbly shares our activities lined up for this celebration.

1. Library visitation and orientation of Grade 7 students from Alaminos City National High School on November 6
2. Barangay Reading Center in-charge training on leadership on Nov 12
3. Araw ng pagbasa to school children of San Jose Elementary School on Nov 27, in time for the araw ng pagbasa celebration.

In view of the inclement weather brought about by Tropical Storm “Kristine” affecting the whole country, particularly the Island of Luzon, work in government offices and classes at all levels in Luzon are hereby suspended on 23 October 2024.

However, those agencies whose functions involve the delivery of basic and health services, preparedness/response to disasters and calamities, and/or the performance of other vital services shall continue with their operations and render the necessary services.

The suspension of work for private companies and offices is left to the discretion of their respective heads.

📣The is excited to announce the 𝗚𝗢𝗘𝗧𝗛𝗘-𝗜𝗡𝗦𝗧𝗜𝗧𝗨𝗧'𝗦 𝟮𝟬𝟮𝟰 𝗦𝗰𝗶𝗲𝗻𝗰𝗲 𝗙𝗶𝗹𝗺 𝗙𝗲𝘀𝘁𝗶𝘃𝗮𝗹 (𝗦𝗙𝗙), set to run from October 18 to December 1, 2024 at the National Library of the Philippines, Epifanio delos Santos Auditorium, with the theme "𝙉𝙚𝙩 𝙕𝙚𝙧𝙤 𝙖𝙣𝙙 𝙩𝙝𝙚 𝘾𝙞𝙧𝙘𝙪𝙡𝙖𝙧 𝙀𝙘𝙤𝙣𝙤𝙢𝙮."

📽Organized by the Goethe-Institut, in collaboration with the Department on the Special Program in Foreign Language (SPFL)-German, this festival will showcase thirty-five (35) science-themed films. These films will be organized for primary, secondary, and university/general public audiences, encouraging participation from viewers around the world. The SFF seeks to emphasize the critical importance of net-zero strategies and the circular economy in addressing climate crises by promoting practices such as reusing, recycling, and repairing existing products to effectively lower carbon dioxide emissions.
