Holy Angel University - Reserve Officers' Training Corps

𝐌𝐒 𝟏 𝐅𝐨𝐮𝐫𝐭𝐡 𝐓𝐫𝐚𝐢𝐧𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐃𝐚𝐲

On the 20th day of July 2024, the NSTP-ROTC (MS 1) of Holy Angel University held its first classroom instruction at Peter G. Nepomuceno (PGN) Building.

Accordingly, the basic ROTC cadets participated in the Usapang Freshmen Orientation via Zoom Video Conferencing headed by the HAU College Guidance Office.

The classroom instruction then occurred right after the orientation regarding AFP Organization in which the cadets learned about the systematic structure of the Armed Forces of the Philippines, particularly the Philippine Army. The lecture was comprehensively discussed by TSg Michael P Bayogo (Inf) PA, Chief Clerk, 303 CDC.

Furthermore, the basic ROTC cadets were given an overview of proper bearing and demeanor, as well as basic command ex*****on, such as the proper way to render a salute, standing in position, and asking for permission. With the assistance of the 303 CDC personnel, HAU ROTC Unit alumni and Graduate Military Assistants (GMA); Sgt Josset Caparas PA (Res), Sgt Franz Matt Tanhueco PA (Res), the Corps Commander and Staff, including 1st Class and 2nd Class advance ROTC cadet officers, the training day was successfully concluded.

The Holy Angel University NSTP ROTC Advance ROTC Cadets completed the ROTC Summer Camp Training and Advanced ROTC Academic Phase Training of Class 01-2024.

The batch HAUragtas and batch LualHAUti successfully completed their respective training for Military Science 3, 31-32, & 41-42, facilitated by the 3rd Regional Community Defense Group, Camp Servillano A Aquino, San Miguel, Tarlac City.

From the RSCT-ARAPT “MASINTALAS” CL 01-2024, C/CPT RIO ASHLEY ABONITA 2CL received the Leadership Award for graduating as the class president out of 283 cadets from different ROTC units within the seven provinces of Central Luzon. Meanwhile, C/MAJ JADE ANDREI CAPARAS 1CL was elected as the class vice president of ARAPT “TALIM-BAGSIK” CL 01-2024 among 306 cadets.

ALL ABOUT US: AN ORIENTATION ON CHARACTER AND CATHOLIC SPIRITUALITY AND HOLY SPIRIT MASS

On 7 July 2024, the Holy Angel University Reserve Officers' Training Corps conducted its face-to-face orientation at the Immaculate Heart Gymnasium, marking the start of the Cadet Year 2024-2025.

The introduction of the Reserve Officer Training Course was led by Sgt. Josset Caparas PA (Res), 2CL Cadet Officers and Corps of Sponsors. Various tactical events were exhibited to the freshmen, including the First Aid and Rescue Carry Transfer, Small Unit Tactics (SUT), and the demonstration of Arnis combining empty-handed combat techniques.

After the NSTP event concluded, students had the opportunity to transfer NSTP programs at the ROTC booth, which was supervised by TSg Michael Bayogo (Inf) PA. Additionally, there was a hands-on session on the assembly and disassembly of the M16A4 rifle, led by Sgt. Johannes Sebastian G. Santos PA (Res) and Pvt. Magsipoc PA (Res)

Furthermore, LTC JOEL P BALAGOT (FS) PA the newly assigned Deputy DIRECTOR of 303 CDC visited and shared his insights to the basic cadets and cadet officers of HAUROTCU, inspiring them and offering valuable advice to guide them in their ROTC journey.

Announcement for the incoming Saturday, 06 July 2024. An orientation for all NSTP students will be facilitated with the title of: ALL ABOUT US: AN ORIENTATION ON CHARACTER AND CATHOLIC SPIRITUALITY AND HOLY SPIRIT MASS FOR NSTP1 ENROLLED STUDENTS with the theme: BTS: Belongingness, Truthfulness, and Service.

All cadets must arrive on campus by 0730h in preparation for the morning formation. The attire will be the Type C uniform. Checking of bearings will be conducted to ensure proper bearing is followed.

On 29 JUNE 2024 the Holy Angel Reserve Officers’ Training Corps conducted 2CL CADET OFFICERS and reservists from the 303rd Community Defense Center demonstrate earthquake drill procedures and emergency transfer techniques like the Four Man Carry with spine board. These exercises not only highlight their training but also underscore their ability to respond effectively to crises with quick thinking and coordination.

On 29 JUNE 2024 the Holy Angel Reserve Officers’ Training Corps conducted an online orientation for the Military Science 1 cadets. The said orientation was conducted on the grounds of the 303 CDC.

The online orientation was hosted by Sgt Hannah Lopido PA (Res), and TSg Michael Bayogo (Inf) PA together with newly promoted 2CL cadet officers. In the said orientation, proper bearing, grading system, and legal basis were all discussed with the cadets, as well as future activities to be expected for the 1st semester.

The 3rd Regional Community Defense Group, under the leadership of COL VICENTE EDGARDO C. DE OCAMPO, INF (GSC) PA, conducted the Joint Opening and Closing Ceremonies of Advanced ROTC Academic Phase Training (ARAPT) MS 31/32 CL 01-2024 and ARAPT MS-41/42 Class “MASINTALAS” at Headquarters 3RCDG Camp Servillano Aquino, San Miguel, Tarlac City, on 25 June 2024 with LTC SONNY G. DUNGCA, INF (PA), Battalion Commander of the 69IB, 7ID, PA, as the Guest of Honor and Speaker.

During the event, the graduating cadets of ARAPT for MS-31 and 32 performed capability demonstrations, which included M16 Rifle Assembly and Disassembly, Towering, Obstacle Course, Small Unit Tactics, and Arnis Exhibition. In his speech, LTC DUNGCA recognized the volunteerism of the Cadet Officers in serving the country and applauded their dedication to complete the training. He also emphasized their role as reservists and future officers in nation building and in preserving the country’s sovereignty.

The ARAPT is a 14-day prerequisite training both for the incoming 2nd and 1st Class cadets of the PAARTP who will undergo MS-31/32 and 41/42 respectively, for the coming school year.

The first training day will be held online via zoom meet on June 29, 2024. Regardless of the modality, proper bearing and demeanor will still be monitored throughout the session.

Type C uniform, a dress code that is applied for all training days, face to face and online. The type C uniform consists of the following:

- Round neck white t shirt
- Maong pants (no holes or tears)
- Rubber shoes (shoe laces must be tucked in)
- Green tickler
- Blue pen
- White handkerchief
- Clean cut for males
- Ponytail and gel for females

Failure to comply will be met with proper sanctions.

Holy Angel University - College of Criminal Justice Education and Forensics held its 2nd Forensic Science Ring Hop and Turnover Ceremony of Batch “Masiklab” Class 02-2024 at Zamore Events Place on 23 May 2024.

The HAU ROTCU was hereby invited to present the entrance and exit of colors, and render an arch of sword ceremony at this prestigious event. As the graduating students approach the platform, they pass through an Arch of Sword in honor of their exemplary skills for completing their chosen program.

The Holy Angel University ROTC Unit participated in the College of Criminal Justice Education and Forensics' 10th Ring Hop and Turnover Ceremony of the Bachelor of Science in Criminology Batch "Balasik" Class 10-2024 at Mi Lugar Events Place on 16 May 2024.

The Ring Hop and Turn Over Ceremony is a tradition for graduating cadets or students. They stand under a giant replica of the batch bull ring, where their loved ones, usually a parent, slip on the bull ring as a reminder of their determination and dedication throughout their academic journey.

In line with this, the HAU ROTC Unit presented the graduating class with arch of swords to honor them for exhibiting exemplary skills in overcoming years of academic struggles and hard work.

Last 30 April 2024, the HAU ROTCU held the joint closing ceremony of Basic Reserve Officers’ Training Corps SY 2023-2024 & Cadet Officer Qualifying Course “LUALHAUTI” CL 13-2024 at the Peter G. Nepomuceno Auditorium, Holy Angel University.

The Guest of Honor and Speaker 𝗟𝗧𝗖 𝗥𝗢𝗚𝗘𝗥 𝗚 𝗖𝗢𝗡𝗠𝗜𝗚𝗢 (𝗔𝗥𝗠) 𝗣𝗔, shared his wisdom to the newly graduated and newly promoted cadet officers for joining the long line of the noble profession. As he quotes: “You have proven yourselves worthy of the title— officer candidates/cadet officers; this is just the beginning of your long journey.” LTC CONMIGO received a warm welcome from 𝗟𝗧𝗖 𝗔𝗟𝗕𝗘𝗥𝗧 𝗠 𝗢𝗥𝗧𝗜𝗭 (𝗢𝗦) 𝗣𝗔, who serves as the 303rd Community Defense Center Director and HAU ROTCU Commandant, as well as the OIC-University President, Mr. 𝗟𝗲𝗼𝗽𝗼𝗹𝗱𝗼 𝗝𝗮𝗶𝗺𝗲 𝗡. 𝗩𝗮𝗹𝗱𝗲𝘀.

As the Basic Reserve Officers’ Training Corps SY 2023-2024 concludes, the COQC “LUALHAUTI” CL 13-2024 starts another journey as junior cadet officers of Holy Angel University-Reserve Officers’ Training Corps. After months of training as plebes, the batch 𝗟𝗨𝗔𝗟𝗛𝗔𝗨𝗧𝗜 are now recognized as full-fledged cadet officers with the rank of Cadet First Lieutenant. Meanwhile, batch 𝗛𝗔𝗨𝗥𝗔𝗚𝗧𝗔𝗦, the ruling class of the corps, are now promoted to the rank of Cadet Major.

A two-day awarding ceremony: the School of Education’s Gawad Matenakang Talaturu and the College of Criminal Justice Education and Forensics’ Gawad Parangal to Law Enforcement and Units, was held on 11-12 April 2024 at the PGN Auditorium. The event honored the carefully selected finalists, celebrating their dedication and valor in serving as peacekeepers and educators, acknowledging their unwavering commitment to our communities. Accordingly, the Holy Angel University Reserve Officers’ Training Corps was invited to present the colors at the event.

The 2nd training day was conducted on 06 January 2024 at the Piazza. With the assistance of the GMA, cadet officers, and COQC cadets under the supervision of Pfc Argie Carpio (Inf) PA, the basic cadets learned for the first time the proper handling of rifles as part of the manual of arms.

Afterward, a topic about IED Awareness was administered by Pfc Argie Carpio (Inf) PA at the University Amphitheater. This lesson aims to give foundational knowledge to the cadets about IEDs safety precautions for properly reacting to suspicious items.
