FINANCIAL ASSISTANCE, RICE SUBSIDY FOR REGISTERED SOLO PARENTS. The Angeles City Government, under the leadership of Mayor Carmelo ‘Pogi’ Lazatin Jr., starts the distribution of P1,000 cash assistance, and five kilos of rice via house-to-house delivery to five registered solo parents in Barangay Pulung Cacutud on August 20, 2024.

Some 2,500 registered solo parents from the 33 barangays in the city will receive cash aid.

Members of the City Social Welfare and Development Office, headed by Edna Duaso, led the distribution of the cash aid.

City Solo Parents Affairs Focal Person Rebecca Peñaranda said that the beneficiaries are those who were registered with the solo parents affairs office.

“Malaki po ang pasasalamat naming mga solo parent dahil hindi po nakakalimot si Mayor Lazatin na magbigay po ng ayuda,” Peñaranda said.

The cash assistance would be of great help to them, Peñaranda added.

Meanwhile, Duaso said as soon as Mayor Lazatin took office in 2019, the CSWDO has been releasing IDs for members of the solo parents community to allow them to avail of the benefits they are entitled to.

Also among the beneficiaries of the livelihood program of the city government are solo parents, particularly in the Angeleño First Facemask livelihood project.
