You have to stop expecting people to return the kindness that you show them, and you have to keep in mind that not everyone can appreciate you.

Be kind to yourself on the days where you feel like the world has forgotten you. Be kind to yourself on the days where you feel like no one in this world cares for you.

And finally, be kind to yourself on the days where other people are treating you poorly. Not everyone can be kind to you, but at least you try to be kind to yourself every day.✨🥀

Based on my observations, generation nowadays are very open to any opportunities.

We love challenging ourselves that will help us grow. We’re creative in nature. Ang dami kong kilala na bata pa lang pero ang lalaki na ng mga kinikita ( isa na ako dun haha ).

Para sa mga kaedad ko, makikita mo talaga yung difference ng panahon dati nung medyo bata bata pa tayo. Sa 19 years of existence ko feel ko sobrang tanda ko na sa dami ng naging problems and experiences ko sa life HAHAHA

Pero at the same time super grateful ako with all the blessings and success na meron ako, naranasan ko at makukuha ko pa in the future.

Minsan hindi mo maiiwasan magsabi ng "life is unfair" kasi kahit ako nagagawa ko yan but always remember that God has his own way of doing things. Always trust His timing ❤️

⚠️ MATIRA MAYAMAN ⚠️

A friend of mine once told me, “Matira Mayaman”. Then i asked him, “Ha?”

Sabi niya, “Sa mundo ngayon, kapag tumigil ka, ikaw ang talo. Bakit? Wala ka na ihaharvest eh. Wala ka na ilulook forward. Hindi araw-araw pasko. Pero araw-araw pag gumalaw ka, meron kang ilu-look forward. Pansin mo? Lahat ng tumitigil, syempre wala na silang makukuha. Pero lahat ng tumutuloy, meron sila araw araw na inaasahan.”

And that gave me goosebumps kasi totoo. Hindi araw araw malakas. Pero kung araw araw tayo mg ttiyaga at ngttrabaho imposibleng di magresulta ng maganda. You’ll only fail if you stop. But if you are consistent you’ll harvest all the hardwork ✨

Bago magtapos ang 2023 , ang tanong ko sayo:

“Ano yung isang desisyon na matagal mo ng dinidelay , na alam mo na kapag nagdesisyon ka , magbabago ang buhay mo.”

Its either, pagbbusiness ba yan ? Kasi natatakot ka magfailed or iniisip mo hindi mo kaya ? Or baka malugi ka ?

My friend, you will never know unless you try.
Walang nakakaalam ng future, nung nagsimula ako magbusiness wala naman nagsabi sakin na 2 years from now, I can be financially free.

Sumubok lang talaga ako 🥰 and I’m very grateful coz I took the risk.

OFWS ARE BREADWINNERS, BUT SOME FAMILY MEMBERS WANT THE BAKERY?

An OFW once shared with me these stories:

▪️ A brother asking for extra money for a “business”
▪️ A cousin asking money for her niece’ birthday bash

The OFW asked me, “Is it an act of humility to provide for these requests, even if it’s hard to do so?”

Maybe.

But at the same time, giving in to these non-important requests is sending a wrong message. They would think that it’s okay and won’t feel that money is a problem for you. Sooner or later it will become a habit.

So how to deal with it? Two things: TS (“Ti-is”)

1️⃣ T for TOUGH LOVE

If you are married with kids, your spouse and your own children are your priority. It is not your role to provide for the wants, and even the needs of your relatives. But, as embedded on our culture, we do this out of love.

But giving is not the only way to show love.

Say no. Not giving them everything doesn’t mean you love them less. Loving does not mean you give all they want. You wake them up from the toxic mentality. You need to let them realize that you have a family of your own to feed. If they feel bad, take it, even if it pinches your heart too. That’s the only way to help them stand on their own feet. That’s what TOUGH LOVE means - you teach them how to become responsible.

2️⃣S for SELF CARE

OFWs often neglect caring for themselves because they are too busy taking care also of the extended family - ate, kuya, pinsan, pamangkin, tito and tita, etc.

Kumusta naman ang sarili mong pangarap?

We don’t realize, as we work diligently abroad, we could already be in a position to reach our dreams. But when giving becomes an obligation, we deprive ourselves of that opportunity to work on our personal goals. Because the finances that we could have invested in ourselves go to the family back home instead.

Giving is a noble act, a very selfless gesture - especially when done with joy and a cheerful heart. But if it’s becoming a burden and not out of the overflow of the heart anymore, we have a problem.

Don’t wait for the day that what’s left on your plate are just breadcrumbs because you gave them the bakery.
