“On Friday, June 14, BAFTA announced the 79 longlisted projects for the 2024 Yugo BAFTA Student Awards. This year's longlist will compete for nominations in Animation, Documentary, Live Action, Games, and Immersive.

A panel of BAFTA members reviewed over 800 submissions from 109 schools across 37 countries, including Argentina, Belgium, Korea, Mexico, Netherlands, Philippines, Singapore and more. The selected titles will be moving ahead to the next round of consideration.”

Long Post Ahead!

We are reaching out to our family and friends to request financial assistance for three beloved family members facing life-threatening illnesses. We are hoping for your help as we face all this at the same time, compounding the emotional and financial burden we are facing.

The most urgent and financially challenging case is my sister, Sugar Vizmonte, who, at 28 years old, has been diagnosed with Acute Myeloid Leukemia. Her treatment involves three stages: Induction Chemotherapy, Bone Marrow Transplant, and Maintenance which is estimated to cost around Php 6-7M in total.

On top of that, both our parents are battling chronic illnesses too. Last January 2023, our father, Gonzalo Buenviaje Vizmonte Jr. Lito, was diagnosed with Chronic Kidney Disease Stage 5 requiring regular dialysis treatment (3x a week). He also recently had two 3-week hospital stays last March and late April as he faced catheter complications which already set us back. He will undergo another surgery for peritoneal dialysis which requires additional funding of approximately P500k.

Meanwhile, our mother Rowena Jacinto Vizmonte Weena’s battle with endometrial cancer recurred in April 2023. We have already finished her systemic chemotherapy sessions last April 2024, but she will need to undergo the final stage of her treatment plan to prevent her cancer cells from rapidly coming back. This is a major colorectal surgery with HIPEC chemotherapy treatment that we project to cost around Php600k.

Given that our family is battling three illnesses simultaneously, the combined cost of medical expenses, medications, and ongoing treatments are piling up. This makes it increasingly challenging for us to provide the care our loved ones desperately need.

It’s a lot to overcome, but the Jacinto-Vizmonte family is standing in faith, and not giving up! With your help, we can raise the funds our sister and parents need for their critical medical treatments.

Any donation, big or small, will directly help us ease the financial burden and ensure our loved ones receive the essential treatment they need. With your support, we can move forward with hope and gratitude.
