In a mission-driven effort, the USLS College of Nursing and the Philippine Nurses Association (PNA) of Oregon, Washington, Central California, and Hawaii will conduct a Medical Mission in Don Salvador Benedicto on January 21, 2024.

Targeting 200 families, including 50 from the ATA community, the initiative offers free consultations, medicines, and grocery packs. A soup kitchen will also be set up to provide warm meals for the recipients.

Today, 10 September 2023, the Commission on Human Rights (CHR) joins the world in commemorating World Su***de Prevention Day. This is an occasion to open the discussion about mental health, raise awareness, and collectively find ways to strengthen prevention and support.

This year marks the final year of the World Su***de Prevention Triennial Theme "Creating Hope Through Action." It emphasizes that there is always hope, even in the darkest of times, and that our actions, no matter how small, can have a significant and positive impact on people who are struggling with suicidal thoughts. Let us use this opportunity as a community to fight the stigma against mental health by changing how we see and interact with people experiencing mental health challenges.

As we progress toward a more aware and informed society, let us all remember that equal access to support and mental health care is a human right that should be available in all sectors of society. This extends to the most vulnerable, as mental illnesses can affect anyone, regardless of gender, ethnicity, or socioeconomic status. Together, let’s
