Premium or Unleaded?

Most Filipinos are still saying
premium and unleaded
to distinguish two types of gasoline.

And these same people
are still thinking that because
it is called unleaded, it has low octane,
and that premium has high octane.

Well, for info number 1.
The Philippines no longer sell leaded gasoline.
All gasoline types are now unleaded.
Which leads us to info number 2.

The correct term now
should be premium and regular.
Not premium and unleaded.

So info number 3 is...
premium has higher octane,
and regular has lower octane.
But both are unleaded.

But here's another wrong notion
about octane rating.
People think that fuel with higher octane
is more powerful than those with low octane.
Which leads us to info number 4.

Octane rating is not for power.
It is to equal the compression ratio of the engine.
Regular cars and motorcycles we use
for our daily commute has low compression ratio.

Therefore they do not need high octane fuel.
These type of vehicles are highly recommended
to just use regular gas (which we wrongly call "unleaded").

Info number 5.
Sports cars and sports motorcycles have high performance engines.
The compression ratio of their engines are very high.
Using regular gas for these engines will cause pre-ignition
due to the high compression inside the combustion chamber,
which in turn causes piston knocks. And piston knocks damages the engine.

Info number 6.
The octane in the fuel are retarding agents
which prevents pre-ignition caused by high compression engines.
That is why high performance engines MUST use premium gas
(which we wrongly call "leaded")
because they have higher octane, which prevents pre-ignition.

in short:
Low Compression=Low Octane.
High Compression=High Octane.

If your vehicle is not a sports car,
don't use premium. your car will run.
But it will not have any effect
on your engine's power whatsoever.

You will just be one of those
who spend more money for fuel you don't need.

And if your vehicle is a high performance one, don't use regular.
You will hurt your engine, and your pocket for the repair later on.

And don't say premium and unleaded.
Say premium and regular.
Because all gasoline fuel are now unleaded.

☑️ 3. Pag naka pasa kana sa exam, may isesend sayong certificate via email na katunayang ikaw ay pasado, bibigyan kana ng papel na for renewal at dumiretso na sa window 1 at ipasa lahat ng requirements (old drivers license, medical, passed CDE exam) at intayin tawagin sa window 7 cashier

☑️ 4. Pag tinawag na sa window 7, magbabayad lamang nang 585.00 pesos for renewal ng license, at dito mo na makikita kung ikaw ba ay qualified sa 10yrs or 5yrs lamang ❤️ intayin tawagin sa window 2 & 3

Ika-16 Nobyembre 2021, maaari na mag-renew ng Driver’s License (10-year validity) ang mga drayber na WALANG DEMERIT POINTS.

Samantala, ang mga aplikanteng may traffic violation ay maaari namang makapag-renew ng 5-yr license.

Ito ay alinsunod sa Sec. 27 ng IRR ng RA 10930 na nagsasabing kailangan munang dumaan sa Comprehensive Driver’s Education (CDE) ang lahat ng magre-renew ng lisensya.

Siguraduhing kumuha na ng CDE Certificate of Completion at Medical Certificate bago magpunta sa mga opisina ng LTO.

Mag-ingat sa mga pekeng Comprehensive Driver's Education Certificate o CDE Certificate.

Mahigpit na pinapaalalahanan ang lahat na ang Comprehensive Driver's Education Certificate o CDE Certificate ay maaaring ma-avail lamang sa mga sumusunod:

2. LTO Driver's Education Centers

3. LTO-Accredited Driving Schools

DISTRACTED DRIVING.

There is a law that makes it ILLEGAL for a DRIVER to use their cell phone phones and other mobile devices while driving.

The penalties are high if apprehended, with the first offence at Php5,000 and possibly suspension of license on the 3rd offence, on top of the Ph20,000 penalty.

The law applies to motor vehicles and motorcycles. You can use a HANDS-FREE device as that is allowed. Putting cellphones INSIDE your helmet is still illegal.

Many drivers when apprehended use the excuse "emergency lang" or "didn't know". You will still be apprehended.

Distracted driving is one of the key causes of accidents. Please follow the law and help save lives on the road.

In 2009, House Bill No. 6924-Helmet Law Bill and the Senate Bill No. 1863-Mandatory Helmet Bill, were consolidated to pass into law what we call now the Motorcycle Helmet Act of 2009.

This law mandates all motorcycle riders, including drivers and back riders, to wear standard protective helmets while driving on any road and highway.

Know basic motorcycle hand signals. Be informed, Be safe.

More than twenty-two years ago, on 05 August 1999, the Republic Act N0. 8750, also known as the Seat Belt Act, was signed into law by the Senate and House of Representatives in the Philippines.

Under this law, a more proactive and preventive approach is pursued in order to secure the safety of the passengers and drivers at all times with the mandatory enforcement of the use of seat belt devices by the drivers and front-seat passengers of private and public motor vehicles.

Doesn't matter if the vehicle is government or privately-registered.

Doesn't matter if it is used for a good reason, for government or private purposes. When ACCIDENTS HAPPEN, it does not make any distinction.

When an LGU-owned truck fell on its side and killed many of its passengers who were at the back of the cargo bay, many people BLAMED the LTO for not enforcing the law. When LTO started strictly enforcing the law, many people called LTO enforcers INCONSIDERATE and ABUSIVE.

The LAW applies to all, and ignorance of the law is not an excuse.
