MAHALIN ANG SARILING ATIN! ππ΅π
Aspins, like any other breed, deserve to be loved and valued. Our native dogs are incredibly beautiful, intelligent, loyal, and unique, and they deserve to be treated with the same respect and affection as any other, because they too are cherished and irreplaceable members of our families.
Itβs heartbreaking to see that discrimination against Aspins still exists, but there is hope in knowing that more and more animal lovers have been stepping forward through the years to show the world that Aspins are exceptional and amazing companions.
Love knows no bounds or breed. Letβs keep celebrating and advocating for the dignity of Aspins! π

Dear Potchi,
We are deeply sorry.
You waited so long for your owner to return, showing hope and love every day despite being left alone. For nearly a year, you survived on the kindness of neighbors, wagging your tail in gratitude even when your heart must have ached.
Help was asked from us too late. By the time we were contacted, you were already gone, having passed away alone, waiting for someone who never came back. If we had known earlier, we could have rescued you.
You deserved so much more than the loneliness you endured. You were a good dog, full of love and loyalty, and the world is a sadder place without you.
Potchi, we are deeply, deeply sorry. Your memory will drive us to work harder, to be better, and to make sure no other animal suffers the way you did.
Rest in peace, sweet Potchi. You are loved and remembered. π

To Potchiβs owner: We want to express our deep anger and sorrow over the neglect and abandonment of your dog, Potchi. For nearly a year, he was left alone, surviving only through the kindness of neighbors. Despite this, he remained loyal, hoping each day for your return.
When we were finally contacted, it was too late. Potchi had already passed away, alone and waiting for you who never came back. This is a heartbreaking act of cruelty and neglect.
Animals deserve love, care, and respect. What you did to Potchi is inexcusable and deeply inhumane. We urge you to reflect on your actions and to understand the profound suffering you caused.

More than half of dog & cat owners surveyed in the Philippines admit theyβre considering giving up their pets within the next year.*
Itβs heartbreaking that many pets, who should be cherished family members, face the prospect of just being abandoned one day by those meant to care for them.
Even worse, when pet owners decide they no longer want their pets, most resort to cruel methods such as dumping them in trash bins, throwing them onto the streets, inconspicuously leaving them at shelters or empty lots, or βpagliligawβ.
These actions are not just cruel; they betray the trust and loyalty of these innocent animals and cause them immense suffering.

There are grave penalties for those who subject animals to suffering or death through abandonment.
If you witness pet abandonment, please act immediately. Gather details and evidence, and take steps to save the animal and seek justice. Report the incident to the authorities and file a case.
*PAWS can offer legal and rescue assistance if the reporting citizen proactively coordinates with us according to our rescue process. Please visit paws.org.ph to learn more about cruelty, neglect, and our rescue procedures.
*NOTE: PAWS does not have the legal authority to just enter a property and take an animal as this is considered trespassing. Cooperation with local authorities is crucial.
Having a pet is a lifetime commitment. You are fully responsible for their care and wellbeing for their whole life. Caring for a pet requires significant time and resourcesβ and they deserve nothing less than to live a fulfilling life. Please respect their lives. Never abandon your pets.
