What if binubuo mo lang pala siya... para sa iba?
“Some periods of our growth are so confusing that we don’t even recognize that growth is happening. We may feel hostile or angry or weepy and hysterical, or we may feel depressed.
It would never occur to us, unless we stumbled on a book or a person who explained to us, that we were in fact in the process of change, of actually becoming larger, spiritually, than we were before.
Whenever we grow, we tend to feel it, as a young seed must feel the weight and inertia of the earth as it seeks to break out of its shell on its way to becoming a plant. Often the feeling is anything but pleasant. But what is most unpleasant is the not knowing what is happening.
Those long periods when something inside ourselves seems to be waiting, holding its breath, unsure about what the next step should be, eventually become the periods we wait for, for it is in those periods that we realize that we are being prepared for the next phase of our life and that, in all probability, a new level of the personality is about to be revealed.” —Alice Walker, Living by the Word

😌
Is it wrong to be this young and this tired? People around me keeps on putting me in too much pressure. I feel like I'm living for them not for myself. I'm just a puppet to anyone. Or maybe it's been always me that keeps on pressuring myself? I've been a failure to many times. I've had numerous breakdowns about what my future would be. I spent most of my life trying to catch up with the world yet I'm being left out. Like I am the only one staying the same place while everyone is moving forward.
I wanted to escape from this lifeless journey but I can't. I already feel so exhausted and I don't think if better days will come. I'm drowning from this life I never wanted to be. I'm afraid I'll resort to self-destruction but I don't wish an additional torment to carry anymore, so I keep on reminding myself that I should stop before it's too late. The last time I've checked, I'm the most kind hearted person but how I've turned this cold? Maybe that's when we know that we have been pushed too hard.

A man sees a snake burning in the flames and decides to free it from the fire. The snake bites him as soon as he catches it
And it causes the person excruciating pain. The person immediately throws the snake away and the snake falls back into the burning flame.
At this point the person looks around and finds a metal stick He uses the stick to save the snake from the flames
Another person who was watching the incident approached the person and asked him:
"This snake bite you! Why are you trying to save his life?"
The first man replied: "The nature of the snake is to bite, but it will not change my nature, and my nature is to help."
Don't change your behavior because of someone's bad nature..or getting hurt from others. Do not lose the purity of your mind. Learn to work with caution.! ❤
💜💜💜
Thank you for being a kind person. ❤🧡💛💚💙💜
In making life choices, I always tell myself that failing is better than losing the chance. I learned not to be terrified of trying things anymore. To always tell myself that if I do well, then I’ll dance all night. And if I get screwed up, then I’ll pick myself up and try again. Because that’s how life is. Not all of us have the gift to make things happen rightaway. For most people, life is full of trial and errors. But that doesn’t make us less capable.
You know, we can fail on our first, second, third, and so many tries but that doesn’t mean it’s the end for us. Life doesn’t end when you mess up; it does when you give up.

God works behind the scenes.
I've reached the point in my life where goodbyes don't hurt as much as they used to. It's not because I've gone numbed or I don't value people anymore, but more because I've learned that life's too short and way too busy to keep everyone inside our bubble. No one told me this, but burning bridges in life is necessary. It allows us to focus on the people we really love, those who stayed, while letting those who were meant to just pass by enjoy their story.
I'll be forever grateful for everyone who found it worth their while to know me. Whenever people say goodbye—and most times they don't say it in words—I learned to accept it with an open heart. I still thank them inside my head with a promise that I will never forget the piece of themselves that they shared with me. And then I move forward, with hope that I can make the best out of those who chose to stay to the right of me, and those who stayed to the left of me.

If I were to generalize, I think one of society’s biggest goals in life is to be happy – and many have misunderstood it to be a final event that’s influenced by how much money we have. And so, we go to great lengths to make money. As someone who was raised in poverty, I resonate with this idea and understand the importance of hard work, especially if you’re underprivileged.
Nevertheless, regardless of our positions, many of us will slave away to make more money for most of our lives. We understand that it provides security, and many also believe that it creates freedom in the form of happiness. While money gives us options, we often learn that despair remains a prevalent theme throughout our lives, regardless of our bank balance.
Hustle culture has put great emphasis on hard work, to the extent many will neglect their well-being to raise activity, even if it doesn’t lead to greater productivity. And our biggest compromise is sleep.
Without sleep, we can be around but not alert or fully present (which is dangerous during activities like driving). Furthermore, sleep deprivation increases anxiety, stress, mental health problems, respiratory issues, weight gain, and other health risks (e.g. diabetes and heart disease). Healing, rejuvenation and high vibrations are pretty difficult without quality sleep. A lack of sleep hinders your ability to manifest a flamboyant life and flourish as you are.
You may think sleep is costly, but a lack of sleep is even more expensive. So many of us are saving for a future that isn’t guaranteed by giving up rest. However, a lack of sleep inhibits creativity and productivity – and often takes us away from the present moment, which is the only time we experience. And it comes with risk. For example, if you manage to make it to a future event you saved up for, you may not be able to enjoy it at the capacity you wanted, due to poor health. Or you might have to use the money you saved on improving your health.
So here’s your reminder to make essential rest and recovery a priority, not just the things you consume and build into your routines.

In honor of Women's Month, Mental Health Negros created a segment called, "Ask a Woman" in which we will feature strong, independent, and empowered women from a variety of disciplines, courses, and organizations who will answer the following question:
"This Women's Month, what self-care advice would you like to give to your fellow women and what have you learned in these past few years about the importance of valuing your mental health?"
Let us honor and celebrate all women by empowering them and listening to what they have to say.
Disclaimer: The thoughts and opinions expressed by those interviewed may not always reflect those of the whole organization.
