In a powerful demonstration of community engagement and compassion, fourth-year students from STI West Negros University took the initiative to uplift the out-of-school youth and children of Barangay Vista Alegre, Bacolod City, through a meticulously planned community outreach program.

The outreach endeavor, led by a collaborative effort between Bachelor of Science in Information Technology (BSIT) and Bachelor of Science in Computer Science (BSCS) students, aimed to address crucial needs while fostering holistic development among the community's young residents.

Divided into two impactful activities, the outreach program left an indelible mark on both the participants and organizers alike.

**Capacity Development Seminar: Crafting Resumes with MS Word**

The first segment of the outreach initiative focused on empowering the out-of-school youth with essential skills for their future endeavors. Led by three proficient student speakers, namely Bobby III Rodriguez, Vincent Aquiatan, and Christian Moncera, the Capacity Development Seminar centered on the art of crafting resumes using Microsoft Wordโ€”a fundamental tool in today's competitive job market.

Through interactive sessions and hands-on demonstrations, participants were equipped with invaluable insights into resume writing techniques, formatting guidelines, and the effective utilization of digital platforms to enhance their professional profiles. The seminar not only imparted practical knowledge but also instilled confidence and motivation among the attendees, paving the way for their brighter futures.

**Feeding Activity and Fun Playtime**

Simultaneously, the vibrant energy of joy and laughter filled the air as the children of Barangay Vista Alegre indulged in a delightful feeding activity and fun playtime organized by the dedicated students. Spearheaded by the esteemed BSCS Program Head and OJT Coordinator, Ms. Mary Gift D. Dionson, the event provided a nurturing environment for children to engage in recreational activities, fostering social interaction and emotional well-being.

Supported by a dynamic team including PSG President Ms. Cherry Anne Espino, CICT Faculty member Ms. Dawn Angelika Arsenal, and diligent 4th Year Class Mayors, the feeding activity transcended mere sustenance, becoming a symbol of community solidarity and care.

**A Collaborative Endeavor**

The success of the outreach program wouldn't have been possible without the unwavering support of key stakeholders, including Barangay Captain Jose Ma. Leandro Norberto L. de Leon, whose endorsement and cooperation fortified the initiative's impact and reach.

The collaborative efforts of STI West Negros University students exemplify the institution's commitment to holistic education and community engagement. By proactively addressing societal needs and nurturing the potential of every individual, these students are not just aspiring professionals but compassionate leaders dedicated to making a positive difference in society.

As the echoes of laughter and the spirit of empowerment linger in Barangay Vista Alegre, Bacolod City, the legacy of this community outreach program serves as a beacon of hope, inspiring future generations to embrace the power of education, compassion, and collective action.
